Winston is Watching

I thought I'd show you guys this adorable picture of Winnie.

Oh wait! That's not Winston! Hee hee hee!

That's better!

FreeRice

My brother has been visiting this site called Free Rice and now I've decided to spreed the ricey goodness. This seems like a great site! You see they give you a word and a group of definitions and you click the one you believe matches the word. Each one you get right donates 20 grains of rice through the UN to people poverty. You may be thinking 20 grains of rice that's not much it's take a while to make an impact, this is a waste of my time... and it is!

Now now not really I was just joking. We're at 12,100 grains of rice. (spencer just leaves up the site so when I get on the computer I do it and when he gets on he does it)

So guys! Learn the meaning of new words, get some right, and donate rice. And if you don't know a word and you're on a roll. Grab a dictionary, or go to an online one. DONATE RICE!!!!!

Oh ya... here's the link:

Yawn

Well Thanksgiving yesterday was a lot of fun. We were with a bunch of family from my dad's side and I enjoyed myself. Then today we, me, my mom, my brother, my aunts Gloria, Gail, and Georgia, and my uncles Steve and Hugh, and my cousins Joe and Hudson, and Hudson's girlfriend Hope, all went ice skating. I only fell once and if I do say so myself I did pretty well. So that was great, but now I'm sleepy. I think I'll go lay down and watch tv. (My feet are sore) Oh ya, later Spencer has tennis lessons and then we're all going to dinner.

Catching Up

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. I've had a lot going on. Last Thursday we had a band concert. It was awesome! The orchestra was there too. That was a lot of fun and then on Friday I went to see the play Le Miserables, which was also quite awesome. Everyones acting and vocals were amazing! It was a great play. Then on Saturday my mom and I went shopping with my cousins Cara and Kelsey and my Aunt Pam. I bought like twelve shirts not including this awesome jacket I got. I really didn't need any jeans or skirts cause I got lots of that but I really needed winter shirts. I got tons of cute shirts. That was fun. The reason I didn't post yesterday was because we had to leave at eleven to go pick up my cousins and aunt have lunch and hen go to the outlet mall where we were shopping. when we finished shopping it was about 6pm then we stopped for dinner so by the time we got home it was around 8pm. I was exhausted from being on my feet all day. I've had a great weekend so far, plus I'm happy cause we have only three days in school next week. YAY! And I can't wait for Thanksgiving! It's always enjoyable.

I'm Snot That Sick

Ok I feel like posting again since the last one wasn't as long as it should have been. I've noticed that quite often I post about being sick. Maybe I just have a bad immune system...who knows! Anyway I'm doing so again because well... I'm sick again. It isn't horrible sick like that bout of walking pneumonia but it's a fever and "me no feel good" I think I'll go into the sickish details. My nose is glazed with, dare I say it?... snot or rather mucus(at least I can breath through my nose again though cause earlier it was clogged), my stomach is feeling um 'unsettled', my breath is hot in my nose and mouth, I have a sore throat, and everything in my resperitory system feels like the desert, hot and dry. What I'm most annoyed about is that I'm sick on the weekend. I mean come on the weekend is a time for me and funishness and now I'm spending it with sickishness. I guess at least though it is kinda good that I'm sick on the weekend rather than on a school day because if I stayed home I'd have catching up to do and if I went to school (a)I'd get everyone sick, and (b)I wouldn't be able to concentrate or possibly even stay awake. (Fever's make me mega sleepy) Infact I'm gonna take a nap right now.

Singing and Screaming

Hey guys! I'd just like to make a shout out to the winner of the Talent Show Competition....Eric in his band 2 Full 4 Pi!!!! They won $50 dollars and a screaming crowd! OMIGOSH!!! To split among the three of them, which as Emma says each would get $16.66 with 2 cents left over. 1 cent for Ryan and Eric's parents and 1 cent for Jerry's parents. Also to Eric, if you heard any high pitched screams shouting "GO ERIC!!!" most of them were mine and Emma's. Great Job!

The Well

I'm tired but I feel like posting. Spencer and I got in a big fight yesterday and he threw a mini pumpkin(the kind the size of a small fist) at me. I actually didn't kick or hit him and didn't even want to. It's a long story. Best not to tell you. Anyway to get the anger out of my system I took a bike ride to the flowing well. Really what I was feeling was more of a spew of my emotions coming out in anger and sadness. So I put my bike up and walked inside to my favorite place in there. It's a little area that isn't really far in but still takes a while to get to. I walked there with Sasha awhile after I found out about my dad. It just makes me feel better to let it out there because it's so peacful. So I hopped across the rocks in the creek to my little spot on the bench and let out my tears. If you were facing me from the other side of the bank you would see the the thin little brook/creek that goes around the entire park and across it are some stepping stones, to get to the other side with out getting wet, then you'd see two logs and a big slab of flat rock to step on on the other bank, which is usually quite muddy, and then you'd see the park path which, in the case that your on the bank opposite it which is what I've described you would see a small wooden bench directly across from you. I believe it is a very pretty place. Someday I'll show you guys where it is maybe we could all make some cult that visits there once a month or something. On to the story. So there I was sitting on a bench in the middle of the park crying. It took awhile but after about 10 minutes I felt a lot better. I have been having many feelings about my dad recently and a lot of those came out with my crying. I think I wasn't crying about just Spencer but more everything causing me distress recently especially my dad. Anyway I'm happy and I think I'm feeling better than I did yesterday because of it.

You May Have Noticed...

I changed my blog name again because I felt the other one was a little to childish. I don't know why. My mind is a constantly changing place. Anyway I hope you guys like the new one better, because for me (I haven't a clue why) it is a relief. ...So on to a very important topic... All Hallow's Eve! YAY! I dressed up as a dog, along with Sasha as an aquarium, and Sheen in her kimono/yukata. It was pretty fun. I wore my winter coat inside out because it has brown fur lining and I wore brown cordarouy pants. My face was completely covered in brown face paint except for white around my nose and mouth and white above and black below my eyes. We trick or treated in Sheen's neighborhood so when Sasha and I went to Sheen's house when Sheen opened the door she got scared and screamed. We had a ton of fun. At one of the houses we went to, I looked over at the side window right next to the door and it was completely cracked into little pieces but still in place and there was a part of the window missing. So I say "Hey guys look there's a whole in the window" and I stick my hand in and it hits the inner window so I thought it was a decoration but as I pulled my hand out some of the pieces broke off. Then I looked over at the other side window and it was fine so I was all confused and Sasha said, "Oh my gosh Gemma someone probably threw something at their window!!!" The thing was that, you know how a window is made up of three parts the back glass the frame and then the front glass, well it was the entire front glass that was comepletely shattered! I couldn't believe that. So I'm off to eat some candy and finish homework so buh-bye.

I Miss My Dad

Yesterday night I had to go to my brother's band concert and Sunhee and Christina played the song "Ashokan Farewell" as a solo. They did a great job. My dad loved that song. It got stuck in my head, and at the time they played it, it wasn't really bothering me but I just looked it up to listen to on youtube and I started crying. I miss him so much. So many things remind me of him. Like today in the auction there was a clear frosted glass chess set that I would have tried so hard to get for him because it would the perfect thing for a Christmas present. You see all over the year I see and find things and find out what people might like and now, having seen that, if he were still alive, even if I hadn't gotten it at the auction, I would have tried really hard to find another one to get him because that is a good gift idea for him. Now it feels like there's the perfect thing to get someone but they aren't here to recieve it. Another time was that in Humanities we had to do a Criterion essay and it was about how we had gotten stranded on an island. In my story I was all alone on the island and well, it really triggered emotion. Inside of me, and I didn't want to show it, I was really sad. I guess it was mainly because well, if you've ever heard of the movie 'Cast Away' it's about a guy who gets stranded on and island alone for like two years. Anyway I had watched that with my mom dad and brother and it made me cry so hard. When I was writing that essay it was in context of me the person stranded on an island reliving how I'd gotten there and how I was sad and all alone, I felt like I was reliving something that had actually happened to me while I was writing it. Thankfully at the end I had to rush to finnish so I was in a hurry and I could kind of forget how I felt. I'm so thankful to have you guys to let this stuff out to. It makes me feel so much better to try to explain this and figure out what I'm feeling.

Call Me Gisabela

Hey guys! Today in Spanish class we chose Spanish names. I chose Gisabela(jiz-a-bela) because it starts with a G and I like it. I plan to spell it Gisabella most of the time instead of Gisabela. I super happy with it! I'd really just like to use it in Spanish though. I also got to have lunch with the principal and some others. I think everybody ends up getting to go it just goes in groups. We had pizza and coke and the entire time I kept having to burp with my mouth closed and kept getting a fizzy feeling in my nose. Well that's all for now. Ciao!

Origin Of Bananaphone

Bananaphone is the name of a children's album, released in 1994.The title track's lyrics describe the bananaphone, a combination of a banana and a telephone. The song uses many puns ("It's a phone with appeal!") and nonce words like "bananular" and "interactive-odular" as Raffi extols the virtues of his unique telephone.

You can download the full song at:

My Grandma

My Grandma took a trip to Mexico for a couple days. She went rappeling on 11 Zip Lines in Mexico going across 100 to 600 feet canyons that were 150 to 800 feet deep. NOT A TIME TO LOOK DOWN!!! Here are some pics.

I wouldn't have the guts!

This one is kind of a funny story. She and her group were supposed to get down to a big flat rock in the water for them to rest on, but when she got there she knocked into everyone and fell in the water.

The backlash of a party has never been so tiring. I'm soooo tired I just got up and I'm gonna nap later because now I have stuff to do, but oooh I'm sore from yesterdays choir party (mainly from limboing and struggling to do the cotton eyed joe). It was so fun! I wish everyone other than just the choir people could've been there. hmmm... I need to go back to sleep. Bye!

Tradition

My mom and I just finished watching Fiddler on the Roof and I really enjoyed it. Since that is what the musical is going to be this year we decided to rent it. I wish so desperately that I could get a leading part in it when I try out(I'm trying out for the play yes) but really we're just beginners. 6th graders never get the good parts. Alas I will work on my vocals and memorization and hope and pray to do well. At least I have awhile seeing as the musical isn't until spring. Anyway about the movie it is great and you guys ought to get it(I got it from the public library) The only thing is you better keep some free time open because it's a little more that 2 hours. Ack! I now have my favorite song from the movie that was repeated many times 'Tradition'.

Traditioooooon tradition -----pause----- tradition Traditioooooon tradition -----pause----- tradition

Pinky Ring at Joann's

My mom and I went to Joann Fabrics today after cross country. We were there to get some fabrics for a costume we're working on. On our way to the check out counter there were these cute $1 rings. I was trying them on trying to find one that fit me in the kind I liked. I stuck one on my finger and it pushed back a little to far ao that...well...it stuck. I was standing there yanking at it and twisting it while my finger was turning purple and I finally got it off! Later on I found one that I thought fit me so as we were in the check out line I put it on because I liked it so much and twist it's stuck. Oh great that again. Now this time it was really stuck!!! The cashier just clipped off the tag and ran that through the scanner to buy it. I was twisating and turning tugging and pulling, my finger was get sweaty and swollen. I ended up spitting on my finger and sliding it off. I am now wearing it as a pinky ring...Ouch!

Balance

I wish I could have a balance in my life where I enjoy everything. Not that it is superb or awesome and fun everyday but not that I'm super bored either. Right now I've stuck myself in the frame of mind and that's how things are anyway that I'm bored all week and I greatly look forward to weekends and times when something big is going down. I don't like living like this. Rather than being less than happy most of the time and experience occasions that I've really been looking forward to and I have a great time that seem to end right away, I want to balance it out and be happy all the time and even if that meant no big happy exciting days I wouldn't mind. Of course this can't really happen but at least I can try to get out of the boredom mindset.

Got Back Yesterday

I just got back yesterday but was to tired to post right away. I had a lot of fun. The main theme of camp was survivor. So for instance we had to build a fire tall enough to burn through a piece of twine threaded above the pit. We also did this cool leather craft where when we got to camping we got a leather arrowhead with string so that we could each make an 'immunity' necklace. Then later on when we did an activity we'd get a specific color of bead, one for each girl in the troop. At the time when we did crafts we got to make a design on our arrowhead medallions. It was really cool cause we got to hammer metal designs onto the leather to imprint the designs. I had a lot of fun overall.

Poems

I feel like writing a poem or two... and that's what I shall do!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I miss the life that lived here once
It's been and gone for many months
I cry and weep and shed my tears
I fear what comes in later years
And then I think to what it'd say
If it saw me this very day
Forget me not
And you will see
That I live on in memory
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I feel afraid of the hole in me
A void so big that the stars can see
It hurts me bad
It makes me cry
I constantly ask myself why oh why
Why am I left without someone I love
Why is he gone, living above
Why does this happen to those who are good
Why 'did' it happen, I never thought it would
Nobody knows the answers to why
But I wish I did cause it's making me cry

High

I'm in a creative mood. I feel like planning at the moment. Planning in the sense of figuring out plans. I love to plan for parties and stuff. When I'm older and have loads of money and I'm rich and famous I'm going to throw the best parties the Hamptons have ever seen.(I plan to party mainly in the summer at my beach house along with the rest of my celebrity buddies) When I'm not there I'll be either at my mansion in Beverly Hills throwing loud and awesome rock out parties or at my humble abode back home in Indy taking my time and resting. Aaah, my life is gonna be great.

Anyway now that I've finished my little day dream I'd like to mention Cross Country. It was great today! There were 17 teams including us and it was great. Cheering on everyone else and not to mention when I actually ran. It was a fantastic course.(mainly because it was so flat) My time was 16 minutes and around 17 seconds. I beat my previous time by 4 minutes!!!! I'm seriously happy. I understand that it was very cool out and also it was a simple course but either way I feel positively jovial about it. See that how good it's making me feel, I said jovial. I never say jovial. Whoopee!

I could use a chocolate bar right now. I also have this pimple right above my lip that's been bugging me. Neeeeed chocolate bar or !homemade chocolate mousse whipped cream silk pie with homemade crust! or maybe some milk, or marshmallo- well no milk and hershey chocolate bar would be best. Gotta go pee bye!

School

I'm sorry I haven't posted but after what happened andthe beginning of school I just haven't had time. I have had a really great start of school. The first day was kinda boring though. Anyway I just got a letter about Cotillion and they have 30 girls and only 21 boys that means we need only 9 more sixth grade boys. So eric if you know of the guys who might want to do Cotillion tell them. So otherwise that's it.

My dad is dead.

My dad was, today, not long ago, hit by a car. He was riding his bike with a friend and an elderly woman didn 't see them and they were hit. My daddy is dead. He's dead. I can't believe that this has happened. I was at McAllister's Deli with my grandma and cousin Cara. We were eating and talking and were close to being done when my mom called my grandma and told her to come home right away. Cara and I were not sure what could have happened. When we got back the was a police car in the driveway. I saw Mrs. Freeman our neighbor across the street and ask her if she knew anything. She didn't. Then my mom came out and had me come inside. Then she told me. I still can't believe it. I don't want too.

Spencer...on fire!

No Spencer has not actually caught on fire. Though sometimes I wish he would. It's just that I found this old picture I drew on paint when I was angry at him. And here it is...

Skype

Everybody needs to get Skype! It rocks awesomely!!! It is an internet calling system that allows you to either call an actual phone anywhere in the world for a cheap fee or call other skype users anywhere in the world with all the same connection for free. If you are only calling other skype users it won't ever cost you any money. I have a webcam and microphone which is really nice but if you only have a mic or don't have either it's okay because you can just chat instead. Another great detail is that you can have conference calls with an unlimited amount of people. So if some of us are on we can all talk! I really really like skype! It's great!!!! For instance, just last week or so I was talking to Sophia and we both could see eachother because we had mics and webcams it was fantastic because we hadn't seen eachother for so long since she's in China!

If anybody wants to get skype the download is at this address please at least read some of the info on the page: http://www.skype.com/download/

Also if you do get skype email me and tell me your username!

White Tiger

I wanted you guys to be able to see this because I'm very proud of it. This is a picture I sketched of a white tiger. I did not trace, it was done free hand looking at apicture on google. After a while I stopped looking at the google pic and did the markings and so on on my own.

Also I did draw it the same as the picture but some setting on my scanner changed and now it only shows the top thin half of the picture.

Useless Information

Has anyone else been to the new Books-A-Million bookstore? My family went recently and I purchased 'The Book of Useless Information' and 'The Ultimate Book of Useless Information' I learned of the first from Laura and decided to get the ultimate book and the original book. I have found both very intriguing.

For instance a couple funny/interesting tidbits from the book...

  • Workers at Matsushita Electric Company in Japan beat dummies of thier foreman with bamboo sticks to let off steem.

  • Hindu men believe it is unlucky to marry a third time and that they could avoid the misfortune by marrying a tree. The tree(the third wife)was then burned, freeing the man to marry again.

  • If you bring a racoons head to the Henniker, New Hampshire, town hall, you are entitled to recieve ten dollars from the town.

  • There's a cemetery town in California called Colma; it's ratio of dead to living people is 750 to 1.

  • In 1983, a Japanese artist made a copy of the Mona Lisa completely out of toast.

I have really enjoyed reading the book.

LOL! I got prank called!

Some people just don't know what they're doing! I got prank called just now! I was hoping to find out who it was to give em' some pointers because really the whole accent thing never works. I would say to anyone out there just try to sound adult. Plus they talked so fast I couldn't hear what they said so I had to ask them like five times if they'd repeat themselves. Overall they didn't do so well on the calling scale. I'd give them a four or a five.

Ebay Addiction

This is just a tiny update I know but it's what you're gonna get because I haven't had a 'ton' of interesting stuff happen to me. Well now that that has been covered lets get down to the point. I now have an addiction to ebay. I'm pretty sure because every time I get on the comeputer I check the lowest priced things I want to buy on ebay. And sure thats fine but I check back all the time. It's pretty fun though because there is so much cool stuff you can find on there. Well thats it. Oh oh oh ya . I forgot to mention two other short things. This morning my mom and I went to the Farmers market. If haven't heard of it well it's a bunch of tables all with coverings/tent thingies. They are grouped in rows that you can walk along to look at what everyone has in store. At each of the tables the seller sets up their wares. Everything there has to do with homemade stuff mostly food but also some lotions, soaps, and candles. I love the whole atosphere of the place and I always enjoy going. This year we bought a blueberry pie, a mini angel food cake, some salsa dip, and two tomatoes. The one other thing I need to say is that today I'm going to clean out my dresser drawer and my closets. All of which are filled with stuff and it is going to take forever! ...or at least the whole weekend..or week. .. ... .. I'll get back to you on it later in the day once we, my mom and I, have gotten started.

Sad Lips can play flutes...

"You need to position your lips as if you are blowing out a candle but are very sad while doing so" said Mrs. Allen "Flatten your lips but keep a slight opening and turn the corners of your lips down." I try and she suggest I try positioning my flute in now and blowing, and I'm not to forget about articulating as in blowing with a twooo sound and using my tongue or known as tonguing. I try and get a great sound. Mrs. Allen moves on around the class helping the rest of the kids with any problems as Mrs. Pote leads the class on what notes to play."

I've been going to band camp for a week and a half about now. I go everyday except for weekends at 9:00 to 9:50. When I first started I was struggling but now I'm doing much better. I'm glad I perservered although I'm not quite through with the bumps yet. I can play:

Bflat C D Eflat F
Which all can come together to make some of these songs that I'm learning:
Jingle Bells
Clare de Lune
Hot Cross Buns
(The next few I have not yet learned)
Good King Wenceslass
The Donkey Round
...And some other junk(okay not junk..stuff!)that I saw on the next page but forgot the names of...
Okay so that's about it. um...Bye! (waves turns around quickly and runs off)

Great Trip!

I had a ton of fun in DC! My troop visited all the historical landmarks and memorials. We all had a great time and except for a few problems it was terrific. You see in two cases some of he girls lost their things. For one we took a ride in some taxis to get to the Washington harbor because we were going to go for a boat ride tour and had decided since it was so hot outside(in the mid to upper 90s) we wanted to cool off and rest for a spell on the way to the dock. We took three taxis so that there were four people in each. Well once we got there one of the girls realized she'd left her bag in their cab. I heard a little bit of the group saying 'oh no Morgan left her bag' as the taxi pulled away and I thought 'hmm I should stop the cab...I wonder why' then as the driver left the parking lot I realized and we, Morgan, her mom and I, ran up the street that he had turned onto. We saw him stuck in the traffic and ran full speed ahead. Unfortunately it was an uphill run so by the time we got to the top he was gone. In the bag Morgan had two T-shirts that her mom had bought, but worse the postcards that Julie (I'm sure most of my readers know who these people are seeing as they are all in our grade) had collected for the places wed gone to that day. For most of them she could probably find more of the same or similar postcards but there were a few that she'd gotten from the White House gift shop (we had gone on a tour of the white house) that she couldn't get. The other time we lost some things was when Courtney's bag had a whole in the bottom because she'd been dragging it on the pavement and some of her things fell out as we were walk. (did I mention we had to walk everywhere in 80 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit(I'm serious) temperatures?) Other than that and a few minor minor mishaps everything was fine. Also I keep forgetting that I need to mention that the entire trip was a celebration of the 95th anniversary of Girl Scouting. On Saturday all of some 30,000(I'm not exaggerating) Girl Scouts and parents along for the trip were not far from the Washington monument having a Sing Along Celebration. That day we also went home on the buses/motor coaches driving through the night leaving at 6:30ish pm and getting home around 8:00ish am. I'm really sad that I missed Relay for Life!!!!! I had a chance to go but I was just to tired. I didn't get very much sleep on the bus. My brother Spencer and my dad did get to got though and they said it was a lot of fun. I'd like to mention also because it is pretty cool that while my mom and I were gone my dad and Spencer mad a computer. For those of you who are unaware that does not mean the screen that means the large box that you put CDs and floppy discs in. (but I'm sure you all know about that stuff right?) It's really interesting. Well I guess that's it, I'm going to add some of the pictures we took to this post later but for now it's here just to read.

I said a WWWWWW-ashington DC!

My Girl Scout troop is taking a trip to Washington DC for a Sing a Long Celebration for the Girl Scouts 95th anniversary! Girl Scouts from all over the nation are all going to Washington DC to sing girl scouting songs. It's not my whole troup that's going but eight girls and four parents. We will be leaving early early early tomorrow morning and will be gone until June 10th. So for that time I won't be able to post. Though when I get back I'm sure I'll have a ton to tell! Well so long for now...I have to start packing!

ARG!>>band camp...an enemy?

I had to go to band camp yesterday. I'm taking the flute. The onlyother people I knew there were Lauren H., Courtney Best, and Annie Ping was supposed to be there. But not everyone is gonna take band camp. Do you guys know of AAANYbody else taking flute in band next year?

I want your opinions ok?

I Got Sick...Again

Recently I have gotten sick and thrown up quite often. I get this terrible headache, I then feel woozy and nauseous, and then I puke. I always know if I'm sick and when I'm going to barf because I get all nervous and sweaty like I do if I'm late finishing a project and more saliva than usual is created in my mouth and the saliva taste very different as if it is a taste telling my body to go spew. Anyway I got sick at school during art class and unfortunately some of the throw up got in my hair. As I was leaning over I sorta puked on the sides. Ew. Now I smell like barf. So because of this I had to go home. These barfing incidents have happened before. For instance my school did Jump Rope for Heart and one the day we did it after the jump roping I puked. Fairly recently my grade was going on a trip to the local art museum. I got sick the night before and puked again...and again...and again. That time it was a higher case because it lasted longer thus my head hurt more and thus causing me to throw up...more. The school nurse was talking to my mom about it and they think I may be getting migraines and the migraines are causing me to barfola. But I'm okay. Although I'm hoping it won't this will probably happen again. Oh and don't forget to post ideas for my blog name!

Sigh*

Right now I feel very insignificant. I'm not quite sure why though. Unfortunately I haven't got anything to say. hmmm.. my hands are cold yet sweaty, and my feet are all tingly. I feel like some sort of bratty little kid who just wants to please but in doing so is just annoying. I feel as though I cannot measure up. As if there is some demeaning presence looming near me to which I cannot overcome nor can I have the appreciation of. I feel gloomy but mostly dull, or rather worthless. Poetic you might say but I don't listen for I feel pain of some sort. And I am insignificance at it's apex. Sigh*

Johari?

Eric posted about this a loooong time ago and I don't think I did so here we are. I was looking at Eric's site (www.nomygreatestadventure.blogspot.com) and noticed the link at the side to his Johari Window and remembered I'd done one after I'd seen his, which was a long time ago. I decided to mention it here because it has about no opinions on it.Oh you don't know what a Johari window is eh? Well click this link to mine and you will find a short description.

Yippeee! ...and bags of stuff!

YAAAAAAAY!!! IT IS WARM OUTSIDE!!!!

Well now that that's out of my system I'd like to tell you a little story.

Ok here goes... I'm a Girl Scout (if you don't know what that is it is like a girl form of cub scout(and if you don't know what that is well then your just odd)) and as a girl scout my troop helps the community. For instance the Garlic Mustard pull was for girl scouts but there were so few people who came(it was scheduled for my troop to do) I failed to mention about girl scouts in the recent post. Anyway my troop for another helpful activity hosted the annual Salvation Army drive for our area. At the drive people come to a parking lot to drop of bags of stuff such as clothes, toys, bedsheets, etc. Originally the Salvation Army was supposed to send over a truck to fill with all the bags of stuff. Weeeeeell the driver called in sick so how are they supposed to bring over the truck without a driver? My dad offered to go get the truck and they ended up telling "No sir we cannot allow you to drive this truck as it is on our liability something thingymajiger blah blah blah... So as it goes the show must go on. We ended up renting a truck which ended up costing 80 something dollars. Oh no this is not yet the end of the story as you might think! Everything went well with loading it up and it all worked out...until we had to take it to the Salvation Army store place. It turned out when we got there we had no one to help us unload the truck except for the manager and the cashier!!!!! They supposed to have a crew but they had nothing! Plus the fact that we were already dog tired for loading the truck. I'd say we had about oh I dunno 350 bags? No I'm not exaggerating it's true. The truck was huge and it was about three fourths of the way full. I'm serious! It took foooorever!!!!! It took us around 3 hours to finish. (with the exception of lunch) I'm glad we got it all done but I feel a little sorry for the Salvation Army people at the store we were at because we really filled up the place! They had a storage room that we were putting everything in and at the end it was stuffed! We knew it would get full so the manager kept saying throughout the time we were working "Oh ya if there is something in the truck you like it's yours we have enough already" Out of this I got: A pair of size five crocs gently used, two stuffed dogs (both new), three beanie babies, a toy for my dog, a bunch of balls (like a volley ball, a soccer ball, etc.), and my dad even got an old pair of skis! It was pretty fun when I look back on it past all the work. hhhhmmm... I guess that's all for now!

Garlic Mustard?

I've been pulling Garlic Mustard for the past hour. You may be thinking what is she talking about. Pulling mustard...and garlic, and what is she pulling it out of? Well for one thing I'm not talking about the foods I'm talking about a plant! It has a mustardy garlicy smell to it thus it's name Garlic Mustard. It is a very invasive plant and it was really taking over this park area in a neighborhood so I signed up to help with a project where they were going to get rid of it. I signed up to work about 2 hours but thankfully it didn't take that long! By the time we were almost done it started raining adding to the already freezing temperatures! I am so glad to be warm again!

Here is a picture of it. Although it may look pretty it won't seems so nice when you have to pull it all up.

Easter!!!

Yay for Easter! Chocolate bunnies and eggs. Egg hunts. Caaaaandy!!!! I just love Easter don't you? Right now I am wearing a very very very...very hot bunny suit/costume. AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT OFF!!! I told my dad I was going to wear it for the rest of the day and that is what I shall do! I might even take a walk in it. No one will know it is me because I made a mask. A pretty good mask at that.

Virtual Pets

Aren't my virtual pet things so cute? The little tab that says 'more' has play things to give to the little pets. It has been so nice out recently. Today especially, but I decided to take some time on the computer to post. I hope you like my little friends. Also the carnival was soo much fun. I'm not gonna be specific but my school has a carnival sort of thing where each classroom has a game and you need to get tickets to play the games and for each game you get a certain amount of carnival money. Later you can get a bunch of prizes when you cash in at the trading post. There were so many things to choose from. It was great. Well I will now leave you to play with my pets if you haven't already.

I am a very forgetful person.

I'm sorry it's been so long I just have had a lot going on. Ok first my teacher set up a cool project where our class learned about the body and got to simulate actually becoming a doctor...sort of. Next I got to go to a place where everyone simulated work life and interviewed for jobs. All of it took a lot of preparation. I mean a lot. Third we ("We" as in the kids in my grade level which to some of you who may be reading this is confidential. Which is why I'm being a little vague.) all went bowling too. Oh, and there is a fourth. My G'ma recently emailed me and asked me a question. What is this question you may ask? My grandmother wanted to know if I'd ever like to go to Mexico. Kind of an out of the blue question right? Apparently she wants to take myself and my family to an amazing place where they have...four or five pools with swim up bars where you can get something to drink and sit down on a slightly submerged seat, four restaurants where you can walk in and eat any time if you have a reservation with the place she wants me to go to, movies anytime (in the room I think though) and other great stuff. I now really really want to go! Well that's all for now.

I'm not being very up to date...

I should be keeping up to date better on my blog...it's just that what with school and so on I'm booked. Right now big things are that I'm in Chicago for the weekend because my cousin is getting married. Which means much cheek pinching and hugs from aunts and uncles. It's been fun...so... That's about it....I know not much but my life has been pretty simple.

IT IS FINALLY SNOWING!!!!!

YAY!!!! Where I live it has only snowed once this year and that was only a light dusting. Now it has finally started snowing!!! We have 1-3 inches and it has stopped snowing but many people are expecting some more! It is truly beautiful in my backyard right now with the snow covering everything in it's glory! I'm soooo glad it has finally snowed because I just don't know what I would do without it!!! I found it had snowed when my parents yelled up to see if I wanted to watch my dog playing in the snow, and of course I did...though I didn't quite believe that there really was snow! I knew it was supposed to snow but it wasn't supposed until a few more hours... I looked out my bedroom window and there it all was! ... Well, I'm off to put on some snow gear and maybe even make a snow fort!

Cookies!!!!

My neighbor and I are in Girl Scouts (though we are in different troops). Cookie selling season has started and we went door to door selling together. It was raining yesterday and we hadn't worn coats so we got pretty cold eventually. We went from door to door to door to door and at about 3:20 (we started around 11:oo) we decided to go home and get our bikes. So we go back get our bikes out but on some warmer clothes and put together a pack of things including our order forms, a snack, scarves, pencils, and so on. Well, we headed out, biked around, and decided to get as far out as possible and then sell on our way back....we got pretty far away from our houses. We barely knew where we were! Sooo we decided hey! we'll go back and visit one of my neighbor's friends on our way back. We didn't sell any cookies on the way back home. Eventually we got to her friend's house and when I got around to getting out my order I couldn't find it!!! I was sooo scared that it would be lost or run over in the road or something. Now you are probably thinking why not get a new form and write the orders down again? Well, number one I couldn't remember what everyone had bought and number two I felt even worse because the form had both my sales on it, but also had hers! I was sooo scared!!!! We went ahead up to her friend's house and they took their order on my neighbor's form. After their order was done we retraced our steps all the way. (which took foreeever!) We got to the last place we had been and saw a paper so as we rode our bikes up to it we screamed for joy as it was the form!!!!! I was so very happy and overjoyed to see it! We picked it up and sped home... I was soaked and so was she for it had rained plus there were tons of huge deep puddles that we had to ride through! I was tired, but glad to be home and to have the order form. What an ordeal that was! That was yesterday and I'm sorry I didn't tell you then but I needed to have dinner and get to sleep (we got home at about 4:30) Today nothing much has happened although my brother, Spencer, and I filled water bottles with baking soda and vinegar and put lids on their caps, waited a while, and went outside to take of the caps which shot across the yard. One went straight across the yard! It was fun and we did it about 2 hours ago at about 9:00 pm. Ah it's been a interesting weekend!
