Not Even Cupcakes Taste Good When I'm Sad

I'm kinda sad, kinda happy. I'm in the 50-50 limbo between yes and no. Even the cupcake I'm eating is in a balance between more icing than cupcake and more cupcake than icing. I'm excited for school, unhappy that summer is about to end, and I just want to get home but I also want to just get away. Maybe I could hitchhike out of the country? Freedom! Nah. We're leaving tomorrow and half of me wants to go home, and the other half doesn't. But it's not like it really matters, we're leaving and that's that. Sigh* I'm hoping we can all get together once I'm back, before school starts. I NEED to talk to SOMEBODY! And I actually mean talk, this implies girl talk that only good buddies can share. (sorry, not you eric lol I'm talking about the girls who go on the blog SORRY! lol) Frankly though, I doubt more than one person is going to read this! Where is everybody??? I'm getting lonely. I miss my friends. No one's emailing, not many are on the blog, Emma and Eric aren't posting, this is why I kind of want to get started back at school, because I miss everyone! Can you believe that? ME miss YOU people? Ha, nah but really I do miss everybody, it'll be nice getting back to school and seeing everyone again.

So how have all the summer's been going? Good? Bad? Please someone get on the computer and comment!!! Don't leave all alone out here! I'm desperate for a warm friend hug, not that relatives are lacking in the hug area but I miss my buddies. This usually doesn't happen, that I miss my friends, but I really haven't spoken to any of you all over this trip. I think it's mainly because school is starting. Oh well. Anyway, I hope all of you have been having great summertime fun and that no one is too depressed about school starting soon.

I completely forgot! On Thursday we went to see "The Dark Night" and I really enjoyed it! It was a great movie, I mean it's not the best of all films I've ever seen, but it was pretty good. So I have now two questions, "Is it safe?" and "Why so serious?" Also I'd like to mention that if I ever ask you if you want to see me make a pencil disappear you should run. :P

Go To Jail

Go DIRECTLY to jail.
DO NOT pass go.
DO NOT collect $200.

I stare at my card. Why are they so harsh on criminals? And doesn't everyone know those rules already? I imagine the card is to be read in a scolding sort of way. As if it were a mother scolding her child for moving 7 spaces and landing on the "GO TO JAIL!" space...

Yesterday we played Monopoly. "Boston Red Sox" style to be precise. The players were the following: myself, my brother Spencer, my cousin Jack, and my aunt Glenda. I had fun although an exact winner was never announced. How do you win in monopoly? I've never really understood that part, I just know I need to get lots of money and real estate. What causes the game to end? I mean other than everyone getting bored and tired. I think one cause is if someone goes bankrupt, but that could take forever... So right now I'm laying in my designated guestly bed in Cape Cod as I write this and listen to the wind. Right now it's 7:06am and I got up around 5:30ish. I'm not sure why I got up so so early after going to bed fairly late. But anyway, so as not to wake anyone else up trying to use the laptop I'm going to type this up later. (this post was being written in my notebook) Oh yeah, so you know how I said I was listening to the wind? It is so windy today! I went outside earlier and it's really loud because of the wind rustling the leaves and trees. Of course inside it's kind of calming along with the waves from the beach. Right out my window I can see the waves of the Atlantic crashing along the shore. A pretty sight indeed. So much nice ambient noise comes from the beach and the wind. It's nice, very calming. It's actually sort of lulling me back to sleep so I think I may rest some more. Getting up so early wasn't the best idea. yawn*

Catchphrase, Quartz, and Glass Flowers

Hey all! I've spent the last five days in Boston with my family and I've really enjoyed exploring the area. We visited Harvard, walked the Freedom Trail and saw the Old North Church and Paul Revere's house, we got to look around on the USS Constitution "Old Ironsides"(an old and apparently important boat), we also saw Faneuil Hall and visited the Faneuil Hall Marketplace aka the Quincy Marketplace and while there we had lunch and I got some mini pagodas for my zen garden and I purchased a pretty black and silver folding hand fan. Oh yeah, we've also been wanting to get the game Catch Phrase because we thought it would be a fun game for all the relatives to play, we'll probably try to find and buy one today. Also, I've had to use an elevator two times during our visit, one time going up and one going down, the elevator only went one level from the parking garage we were in up to a restaurant so I was okay with it but still, I do not enjoy having to use elevators. I prefer the stairs, they're far more interesting and by using them you are less lazy plus using the stairs means I don't have to use the elevator. Sooo today we're headed out to Cape Cod and I'm excited for that to because we'll be there for a nice long ten days. Plus I'll get the chance to swim and I get to visit with family which is always a pleasure right? Absolutely. I hope all have been enjoying the last few weeks or so of vacation, spend them wisely. I think we go back to school on the 12? I am actually kind of looking slightly forward to school because we all get to see eachother again and, well, learn. I'm also a little apprehensive though because I just love the laziness and the laid back feel of summer that disappears at the beginning of the school year. Oh well, happy summer anyway, have a nice day all! :D

Before Tomorrow Comes

Well today we're packing and doing everything we need to do before we leave tomorrow. We still really don't have much I want to eat. Oh well! I can survive on milk.

A description of me right now:

Gemma... ...has not eaten for awhile ...is kind of hungry ...has no food ...needs sustenance ...apparently looks peaked ...could die of hunger ...lacks energy ...suffers from malnutrition at the moment ...is really hungry ...is not willing to eat stale english muffins(which are not actually like muffins just to clarify) to survive ...will probably die before even getting to the grocery to buy food for the trip ...is really really hungry...

Anyway, I may post later but right now I have work to get done before tomorrow comes.

Later...

Okay so we're off tomorrow morning. I'm slightly excited but also slightly unhappy about having ot stay at the hotel because what if we have to use the elevator? Ok, so I'm adding unneeded nervousness and apprehension. Maybe if I just stop thinking for a little bit I'll feel better, about everything. That would be nice.

Something Edible Would Be Nice

I suppose I should post something, but I don't really have anything to post about. Let's see. I want to go horseback riding sometime before school starts. I still despise elevators, mainly just ones in tall buildings. Like I'm okay with an elevator in a building with around 4 floors, but if its 6 or 7 or more floors I absolutely loathe having to use it. It just freaks me out. I gotta get over my fear of elevators. So hmmmm what else. I got some tiny fake feather butterflies at Hobby Lobby a couple days ago and I'm going to put them on hair pins and wear one or two in my hair or on my ponytail/bun/braid. Cool right? Okay maybe not cool but fun. Kinda different, almost like putting a fake flower pin in your hair just less tacky(not that the fake flower thing is that tacky anyway) I really haven't got much else to say. Hmmmm, I'm really hungry. I have been getting into the habit of not eating breakfast, so it's nearing lunchtime and I'm starving and I lack energy. I'm gonna go feed myself K? Have a nice day all. Now if only we had some food. Don't worry I'll find something edible.

Later...

It's 11:33 at night and I sitting here eating noodles. What is wrong with me?!? Ha. You see I was having headaches because the only thing I eaten today was a turkey and cheese sandwich, 3 small cubes of watermelon, and a glass of water. No I'm not starving myself. I just meant it when I said we don't have much food. We're trying to whittle it down so we don't leave a bunch of food at home while we're gone. I think it's a little silly though because it's making me forget about eating because when I think I should eat I try to think of something I could have, and there hardly is anything! Soooo hungry. Must-have-sustenance. Sigh* The reason I didn't eat breakfast though was because I woke up around 10 so I didn't really think about having breakfast. So here I am finishing noodles and milk. Good night all. And yes, no need to tell me, I'm weird.

My Fox Is Burning!

Sooooo... I'm leaving for Boston now on the 18th instead of the 17th because my Aunt doesn't want us to get there on the 19th because that's the day she and my cousin, her son, Jay(I originally typed Jack, why'd I do that??? I knew it was Jay not Jack. Just to clarify.) will be packing his stuff and preparing to leave for China. I can understand how it would be just a little too hectic to add visitors to that. So yeah, not much difference for us though, so we're leaving a day later. Okay. Oh, and now after much prodding from Spencer I'm now using Mozilla Firefox as my web browser. Won't he be happy! He says it's much faster or something although I don't notice much difference. I am growing fond of the automatic spell checker though.

Also, am I the only one who goes back into old posts on my blog and other blogs and comments? I'm thinking I am because I must surely be the only person who wants to end the case of the fake sheen blog (let alone the only one who remembers it) once and for all. I'm bored, there is nothing good on TV and I have nothing left to do on the computer that I haven't already done, I think I'll try getting on Lively, googles new virtual world thing, but it's so glitchy and slow connecting that it isn't very fun.

I Don't Feel So Good!

I think I ate too much candy. Don't ask, but let me just say that my stomach hurts. Really bad. Augh. Grumble* How are all of you doing? Summer is fading fast. We only have like a month left. Sigh* I'm sad summer will be soon over. But oh well! I suppose we should just think that we have time left rather than none at all.

Dental Torture

Ello all! Yay!! Claps for Sophia, she's home from China! Wooh. I will of course be leaving on the 17 for Boston and then we'll be visiting Cape Cod (lots of family to visit :D) During that time I really won't be able to get on the computer much so I may get in only 1 or 2 posts(or none, it depends, my relatives may want me to post so they can see my blog and read my posts over my shoulder as I type.. :D lol). We'll be back around the beginning of August or something. Gosh I wish we were going to New York too. Sigh* Oh well! Soooo, I'd just like to give a shout out to Laura! Kay, here goes... Do potatoes going into cream base soup get to be cooked? Also may we add cheese? I have some if needed. ...alrighty, hope she replies. I think I'll send an email and OMIGOSH. Ummmm, ew. This is just disgusting and awful I mean it's not like I've been anything particularly gas inducing. ...Nevermind... Soooo, today we went to the pottery place (my mom and Spencer and I) and we painted 2 pieces of pottery, one as a gift for each relative who we're staying with during our trip. I also painted a small mini tray. (for those of you who've seen the rose plate tray thingy I did, it's the smaller version OMIGOSH! and it's about half the size) Also, recently I've been listening to and trying to sing some songs by Vienna Teng. One of them is called Gravity(I think I have it in the player at the bottom) and I really like singing it. And although I may not sing it as well as Vienna I can do somewhat nicely(but the range in pitch is occasionally somewhat troublesome). OMIGOSH!.... This is annoying... funny, but annoying. Finally, to end this post I'd like to ask a very important question(which still somewhat confuses me) .... ... ....

Is it safe?

Mouse Problems

Hey all. Guess what? Our mouse isn't working. Spencer'll probably have it fixed soon or something. In the meantime I wanted to get on the computer so I'm just using the keyboard. The tab key is very useful. Anyway not much is going on so I'l maybe give an update later or tomorrow if the mouse gets fixed.

Later...

Yay! Mouse is fixed! Wooh. ... ..my stomach hurts. sigh*

Z?!

Okay I'm pretty darn sure no one(let alone two people) has a name that starts with Z on here! :P Today I'm going over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go. Ah, but no I am not flying to Florida(which I would enjoy) I am going to my granny's house. We're having lunch/dinner. Dinner for lunch. A big Sunday lunch feast. Yeah that fits. I kinda would rather not go or if we do I hope we don't spend all day there because it's beau-ti-ful out and I don't want to waste valuable running/swimming/walking/outside playing time inside. Not that the big Sunday lunch feast (it's so big it deserves bold) is a waste, but I'd much rather eat it outside at a big Sunday lunch feast picnic. Oh well! Yawn* I'm tired. Okay not really, but I've taken to laying in bed for another few hours after I awake even though I'm not tired. And that makes me all groggy. I need to stop doing that. Yawn* (also may it be known that when I type a yawn it's because I actually Yawn* Yaaaawn* am yawning) Yawn* Sigh* .... .... uuh... now what? Yawn* I'm really yawning a lot. (hmm, yawn sounds like lawn, and on and pawn this is fawn) Okay well since I have nothing left to say I am off to go do things that I can post about to make my blog more interesting. For instance, now I'm gonna shower and brush my teeth. Talk about EXCITING! Well, I'm off. Have a nice day all! One more thing... take the quiz!!! Only like two people have taken it. (one of them being me(because I was bored which happens often), the other's Natalie) I would just like to say thank you Natalie for still having an existence on my blog. Thank you.... okaybye!

After my tooth brushing...

My tooth brushing just now made me remember that I was going to tell you all about how yesterday I went through old tapes that have been made by me at various different events with my camcorder. There were a couple pretty funny ones of Spencer(a lot of possible blackmail) and some of me. I even have the tape that I used at independent study. Do you guys remember that? I did mine on illegal immigration, eric did the war in Uganda, emma did deforestation, I think sheen did chocolate(so did anna k), and then there were those elusive donuts and coffee that we all wanted but couldn't have because they were for the adults. I went through the whole video and a lot of it was pretty funny. Good times. I also have a tape of Sheen and I(or is it me?) playing with dominoes when we were younger. Her voice sounds so different! Anyway, I'm starving so I'm gonna shower and get some breakfast. Have a beau-ti-ful day!

Wave That Red Striped Blue Backed White Starred Flag

Happy 4th of July! It kinda stinks that it rained because we ended up not going to the parade this morning. :( Oh well. Now we're going to get some food and snacks or something and watch movies to celebrate the day. Oh and later we're going to the Carmel Fest to see the fireworks. Is anyone else going? Or if you're seeing this afterwords, did any of you go? If so, see you there I suppose. One more thing, please take this test! It's on me and a little on the blog and I'd like you all to take it if you don't mind. It's only 8 questions!

Movies

Loodle Doodle Deedle Day Doddle Doodle Dodle Dah.... yeah I don't know what that was or why it happened but it did, and that's that. Soooo.... anyway... MOVIES! Yay for movies. Recently my family has been going to the library, getting 4 or 5 movies and then we watch them over the course of the week. It's pretty neat. We often watch older movies but we also watch newer movies so it's pretty much a variety. Our selection for this week and coming weekend(picked out courtesy of my mom) is: Music and Lyrics(very good movie, I've seen it, but I don't mind watching it again), Marathon Man(sounds good, plus I always love a good high suspense mystery evil drama, plus it has Dustin Hoffman who did quite well in a previously watched movie "Wag The Dog" which was very good), Billy Eliot(looks interesting), Race To Space(looks good), The birdcage(looks good, plus it has Robin Williams who's funny), and Fletch(looks like it'll be pretty funny)

Here are the movies we've seen previously:

Entrapment
Wag The Dog
What About Bob
Pelican Brief(which we did not get all the way through! The dvd was messed up)
The Client
Just Cause
Line of Fire(Although this I did not watch but I kinda wish I had)

Anyway I'm off to go watch our next movie. Seeya!

Biscuity

I'm booooored! Okay not really but I am hungry. I'm going to make some flaky biscuits. Yummm. Things I need to do are:

  • make flaky biscuits
  • eat flaky biscuits
  • swim more
  • have a campfire(possibly)
  • rent a movie(possibly)
  • do something

Alrighty, seeya.

Also I think you should all try this game http://www.smart-kit.com/games/poiser/ it's fun. I would also suggest that everyone visit Jay Is Games periodically. And also visit xkcd(it's a comic) for some laughter on occasion.

Ah yes, and one more thing, I would just like to mention that I am a winner.

Yay For Backround Music

Scroll down! I have music now!!! It's a little player from imeem. Start it up and begin to enjoy. I've got 58 songs for your listening pleasure. I also have a slideshow. Yay! I'm very happy about getting it set up. Also if you're down at the bottom where it says my music and you see no player just click in the blank area a few times and wait. It'll load after a bit. Some of the music isn't too good(because I wasn't too selective about what I was adding) but just skip over anything you don't like. I really like the last song, "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. The second to last song is a different version of it that I don't like as much and accidentally added. I also really like "One More Day" by Derek James and "No Such Thing" by John Mayer. Enjoy!
