Hot Orange Spice Tea..

..it's my constant companion when sick.   :] And today, I am sick. :[ I've been feeling ill since, I'm not sure, Wednesday last week I suppose. I was getting sick already, but I blame track for provoking it. The first day in particular, as it was cold and I chose to leave my sweatshirt inside the building, wearing only a t-shirt and knit capris to run in. I make such good decisions, right? So now, I've been suffering congestion, sore throat, overall ache, etc. I stayed home on Thursday in hopes of recovery, but it didn't seem to help. Now, I'm hoping staying home today will make me all better for school tomorrow! I'm sick of being sick.

On a more positive note, I am actually enjoying track. The feeling you get after practice, where you're so sore, but pleased with yourself for the exercise, I love it! It's nice to be active, especially considering I don't participate in any other sports.
Looking out the window right now, there's clear blue sky and sun, it just makes me wish I were outside running around. Sigh* spring! SPRINGGG! I love it. Even the rain, which we experienced yesterday, puts me in a good mood. The only thing that I'm slightly dreading is the heat that's going to come eventually. That tends to make it a little more difficult to appreciate track.

Also, another of my sick companions: the music of Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, and the rest of the music pandora deems similar. Seriously, I've been listening all day, and it greatly improves my mood. ^_^

Note: And now I've found out that I have three tests tomorrow. hyperventilating* I need to study. Agh.

3.141592653589...

It's time to celebrate! Oh yes! Because:
  1. The play is over, both performances were great, and the whole experience was fun
  2. Track starts tomorrow... I am going.. that's a good reason to celebrate! I guess? I mostly enjoy track, exhaustion, sore muscles, and all!
  3. Today is PI DAY
  4. It is SPRING. (for the most part) I love that.
Number 3 is particularly important, considering the title of this very blog! Which is, actually quite random. I mean, I like pie. And numbers, I guess. So I like pi. And I suppose I enjoy the occasional play on words. But really, I can't entirely remember my reasoning behind the name of this site. Ohh, in my younger years I don't think I cared enough to require deep meaning in things such as the title of my blog. Or my email address. Ugh, you know what I mean for those who have it.

Also, numero 4! Spring is my favorite season. It pleases me greatly. ^_^ What with the not too hot/cold weather, budding plant life, rain, sun and clouds, and even the smellll of spring. What a wonderful time.

Point #1, now that I think about it, does have its downsides. I've really enjoyed being in the musicals at Clay. This year and in the years past I've had so much fun. So, now that the play is over it sort of brings on more of the realization that highschool is coming closer. More importantly, Brebeuf is coming closer. shudders* I am excited and yet, I find myself afraid. I'm not sure. I just don't want to lose any of the people that I love to be around here at Clay. And what if I fail at making new friends?! Aack!

Hmm, well this is all out of order, but I suppose I should talk about Number 2 as well... Basically, I enjoy running. And exercise makes me feel happy and healthy. So I'm fairly excited for track. Well. Not excited. Just, glad that it's here. I'm not hugely overjoyed or anything. xD

    Some Things Just Happen

This weekend was quite eagerly awaited. It's a nice reprieve, as we had no play practice on Saturday when we would normally. (although the principle cast went from 10am to 12, HAha)
I also have hardly any homework! How pleasing!
So, I spent Saturday relaxing and I intend to do the same today. Therefore, I have nothing interesting to report.
    Sorry.
Well. I have one thing... I BURNT MY HAND. OW. D:
It's true. I burnt the side of my right hand yesterday. On our toaster oven. :[ I now have three tender, blistery, pinkish places on my hand.
No fear though! I shall recover! To be honest it doesn't hurt too much anymore. But gosh, it was quite a pain last night.

    The Seagull's Name is Jonathan

We had to wear our costumes today at practice. Urg. I guess I don't mind wearing a matronly, light green, floor length dress... too much. I guess.

Sooo, this Saturday we took a bit of a field trip after play practice on Thursday! We went to Hook's drugstore (an old-timey sort of drugstore, museum, and candy store) to "get into character" and "learn about the time period" ...that sort of thing. ^_^ And of course, to learn the difference between an ice cream soda and an ice cream float. It is a key bit of info which all people should be acquainted with:
Soda=carbonated drink and flavoring and ice cream mixed together
Float=just soda pop aka "phosphate" with ice cream in it
Okay. So mainly I went to get the ice cream soda.
And. It. Was. Yummy. (mine was cherry flavoring with chocolate ice cream)
I also purchased some candy. There is no resisting candy.

Also, today and tomorrow we have ISTEP+(Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus, what's with the "Plus" part?) Which MEANS: No extra homework today! We'll still have shortened classes tomorrow though, in addition to the testing. Phooey. Anyway, we had MATHEMATICS and ENGLISH testing today. For the prompt we needed to write a fictional story about someone who does something they were afraid of doing or didn't think they could accomplish. I wrote about a girl who's afraid of elevators. xD

Now, I need to stop typing stuff on here and finish the project I now need to do for Language Arts. I thought it was due on Friday, but it's actually due Wednesday... Sigh!

ONE MORE THING: My mouth is blue! :P It's the result of one of the candies I got from Hook's which is deliciously blueberry flavored and full of artificial blue coloring. Fantastic!
