Tsk, Excuses Excuses

Well, tonight we had a band concert so that was fairly enjoyable. But you know, I'm beginning to get a little sick of my height. I really like to wear heels but (and I'm not saying I'm taller than everyone else regularly, but I am among the tall people) when I do wear heels I look ridiculous compared to others. Of course, I did this at the concert. I just hope I didn't seem too tall. I don't know, it just seems like lots of people were wondering why I wore heels, as if I really need to be any taller. The thing is I just enjoy wearing them, plus without them my pants would have dragged the floor. :P But otherwise the concert was a lot of fun. It did seem kind of short though. Anyway, on another topic, I seem to have contracted an light illness of some sort. You know the deal, sniffles, congestion, sore throat, mild headaches, and I've been sneezing a lot for the past couple of days. I'm serious, I can't remember the last time I sneezed this much. And I'm CONSTANTLY having to blow my nose! Ugh. No fever though, my temp's only up to 99. So, I'm off to settle down and study further for my numerous (and yes 3 counts as numerous) tests tomorrow.

Red and Blue Flyswatters

Today I: Went to Panara for lunch, carved pumpkins with my grandma and cousin Kelsey, went out and had pizza for dinner, went to the bathroom at the restaurant and I have to elaborate on that later because I have a little story, then when we left the restaurant my cousin and I saw these round pink seed pod things on the ground under a tree and we stepped on lots of those(they squished out goopy stuff and the nuts made popping noises when they cracked! :P), we then went to a comedy place and watched an improv show(it was hilarious), and now I'm home. Okay, now about the bathroom. Kelsey had sweatpants on so she was going to change into some jeans her mom brought her. We went to the bathroom and found the area leading to the men's and women's was a small enclosed room the size of a broom closet. Seriously, SMALL. And of course, the women's restroom was locked. So we're waiting in this little room and after awhile the door to come in opens on Kelsey(:P Ha.) and a somewhat heavyset guy stumbles in. So he shuffles through to the unlocked men's room as we continue to wait. And no, it didn't turn out that there was no one in the women's because we heard a toilet flush and the sink after a bit. Eventually a little girl unlocks and leaves the restroom and we go in. It was like a multi stall bathroom except with only one stall so I don't completely see why she locked it. So after I go and Kelsey goes in the stall to change her pants(lol) I'm washing my hands and the door to the bathroom begins to open and this guy steps in, quickly realizing he's mistaken he just goes "Oh sh*t sorry!" and dashes out! At which point I start laughing hysterically and explain to Kelsey, who is also laughing, what just actually happened. Anyway, that was funny. The comedy place was also quite funny but I don't feel like going into great detail about it because now I'm tired.

Sarah-licious

My house is very cold. It's starting to get chilly out so the house has been cold and dry and all around uncomfortable. Saw Sarah Palin on Friday, thanks again to Natalie, and that's was pretty cool. Got some campaign buttons. And now I have homework to do. Sigh* Weekends.

Later...

Weekends, augh! I feel so lazy. And of course the new quarter is starting on Monday so that means I'll have to get used to having keyboarding and Spanish instead of gym. We'll see how this goes. But at least we've got Fall Break coming up on Thursday and Friday. My g'ma is coming up to visit so that'll be fun, plus my cousins have their Fall Break at the same time as us this year so we'll probably spend some time with them too. Really, anytime without school is good. Although, as I was implying before, the weekends can get a little boring unless you have something going on. My weekend has been very cold and lazy and has been wasted doing homework and being sleepy in my pj's trying to conserve whatever warmth I have. My toes are fuh-reezing! Seriously, why am I so cold??? Anyway, when I got up this morning I wrote this little thing/poem and I've decided to post it. So what do you think?

Morning World

You awaken
With heavy feet and blurry vision you emerge from the bedroom
You stumble to your round porcelain chair to relieve yourself
Now that that’s done you stop a moment
Your stomach, it feels empty
You are hungry so you tiptoe down the stair steps
Arriving at your destination, the fridge, you remove the milk
Then, turning to the cabinets,
You take out a glass and fill it to the brim with the white creamy liquid
And there you have it, your glass of dairy
If only you had something warmer
A mug of coffee perhaps or some hot cocoa
It’s fairly chilly and, with only your skimpy pajamas on, you feel cold
Perhaps you should have grabbed a coat of some sort upstairs
You dash up the staircase and back to your room
You snatch a large warm fleece robe from the closet and tug it on as you sneak back downstairs
Once again with your glass of milk, you settle down in a rather ragged recliner and take a sip
After awhile you finish and set the cup aside
Your bare feet and toes are cold so you tuck them under you
Snuggling further into the chair for warmth you doze off once more

Learn To Live With What You Are

Well, I feel like I might get some inspiring stuff out of this so, having just read Mr. Carter's blog I am going to do my own (probably not as good) list of ten things I believe. Also, I've been thinking about this a bit and I think I'm going to get a pocket thesaurus and dictionary and try to broaden my vocabulary further. I was also thinking about getting an English to Spanish or French or some other language dictionary so that whenever I say something I'll look it up to see how to say it in another language.

1.) I believe that, right now, my life is just taking on another routine.
I'm starting to get used to things and that can be both good and bad. It's nice because I'm settled into the school schedule and I know what's going on. But it gets boring, having the same routine without much else happening. Thankfully we have survival week next week. And of course, this weekend our day trip was fun. It's just that, some days I don't get much accomplished and I don't really do much at all and that ends up getting me all depressed about the boringness of my routine.

2.) I am often too self-conscious.
I really need to get it through my head that NO ONE CARES. If I'm walking down the road the people in their cars don't give me a second thought, at school rushing through the halls, focusing on class, no one pays anymore attention to me than I do to them. I mean sometimes I'm just acting silly, laughing too loud, and just being crazy on my way to class, but other times I'm constantly worrying what other people will think of what I'm doing. It's mostly that I'm like this out in public though, which is especially silly because if people I know don't care, people who I've never met really aren't going to care.

3.) I believe that one of the worst things you can do to someone is base your opinion of them on one instance.
I hate it when people judge other people on just one bad thing that's happened. When they drag the whole event out of proportion and then let that one over exaggerated moment shape their impression of the person. It's ridiculous. I mean really, back up your opinions with more than one instance.

4.) Dating should be left to the adults.
I really don't think dating at a young age is a very good idea. It's pointless, because okay so you're going out together and "dating" and whatever else that involves, but really where's the point? Billy loves Suzy and and she loves him back but what then? So they just keep dating and it's for fun? Eventually they'll break it off right? How many people have been married to and have had successful marriages with the person they've been dating since they were kids? I mean, I guess you could say that dating helps you realize what you want in a relationship, but not when you're a kid. Not many kids are really going to think about that sort of thing at this age. But, I'm not saying kids who are dating right now are just straight out wrong, it's just not something I would want to be doing.

5.) I believe it's very fulfilling to learn to play an instrument.
The same goes for learning and improving on pretty much any art form. (dancing, painting, drawing, martial arts, sculpting, cooking, that sort of thing) Anyway, I'm really enjoying the flute. It feels good to be able to play. And I'd say I'm getting pretty good too(not trying to brag, just providing proof, but I am ranked sixth chair in the flute section out of I dunno like 15 or 16 other flutes?) I'm just very happy that I stuck with it. Plus it's always good to enjoy what you've learned. I'm beginning to love the sound flutes make. Am I the only one who, when listening to a favorite song has certain parts that I just love the way the notes are put together. It's like looking at a bunch of vibrant colors in an abstract art piece where each of the pitches is a color. Like there are certain notes and sequences of notes that I just want to listen to over and over again because I like them so much. That happens when I'm playing my flute sometimes, that there's a certain pitch that I just love the feel of it. Another thing, I really like the sound of clarinets. Especially when they're playing soft, it's kind of whispery and woody and earthy almost. It has such a similar feeling to the soft sound of a bow going over the strings of a violin very lightly. Sort of calm and peaceful and I can't really think of a word for it other than woody but that's not really right. Warm maybe? Like a campfire almost. But not quite so smoky and blazing. The sound almost reminds me of a flowery perfume but not the kind that's sickly sweet or anything if that makes any sense. Anyway, I'm getting off topic.

6.) I have reason to believe that Starbucks is taking hold of my mind.
I'm becoming a coffee junky. I'm constantly craving a yummy Starbucks Mint Mocha Chip Frappuccino (my coffee drink of choice) And though I've yet to order one myself I've tasted the Tazo Passion Tea, and I've been wanting to get one of those but I can never seem to keep myself from ordering my long loved frappuccino.

7.) I believe that in time I will change and learn and develop.
Basically, I'm expecting that, with age, my personality will change. Hopefully for the better. :) I mean, we all change as we get older, and I'm hoping that as I do I'll become more knowledgeable and wiser. It feels good to understand things and to be able to tell someone about those things in depth. For instance, after doing a project on some topic and studying it closely it feels really good to retain that information. I guess what I mean is, learning actually is fun and I'm looking forward to learning from my experiences and everything else as I get older.

8.) In every experience we learn something, no matter how small.
It's important to grow from everything we do. Every single experience should teach you something. So, pay attention to life and what's going on and, well, learn from it.

9.) Animals are worth your time.
I love my dog. I love all animals. Not only are they interesting to observe but they're a part of life. They are life. They are also tasty... :P ha. But really they are useful, and interesting, and they are certainly worth your time.

10.) I believe I have more than ten things I truly believe in but I just haven't thought of them all yet. I'm constantly spouting these beliefs, you just have to catch me at the right time to get them.

Anyway, that's that. I'm off to dinner now. Soooo hungry! :)

Learning To Breathe

Why is it that apples seems so pleasant? I mean, for me, they just seem so shiny and sanitary and happy. Perhaps it's the food they provide and the vibrant colors they offer up that make them seem so nice. Apples are good subjects for photography. They make you think. I've been feeling the need to go around and take some pictures. I like photography. A picture can be whatever you want, you can interpret it with some complex meaning or it can simply be a picture. Plus photography can be left as that exact copy of a moment, or you can edit it and change things a bit. Also, a photo inspired by one thing can inspire something else. I take a picture of an apple, inspired by this post and the KMF green apple(that's what made me start thinking about apples), then I show someone the picture and they're inspired to paint it or write a poem about it or something. Or at least that's how it is with me, whenever I see an artistic photograph I end up feeling inspired to create some poetry or other art. Actually, whenever I see any art I end up feeling inspired. I need sleep now(it's been a long day, South Bend and Notre Dame proved to be quite interesting) and whether or not any of this post makes sense I'm publishing it anyway. (p.s. the itletay isyay ayay ongsay ybay witchfootsay)

Dark Brown Spikes Of Glory

Today was a good day. A very good day. I really enjoyed science today. 4th period will be quite pleasant in the coming week. Also, in gym we're doing tennis and I've been inspired to play some tennis this weekend. Unfortunately I won't be able to accomplish that tomorrow, we're going to South Bend for the day to see the South Bend Chocolate factory and Notre Dame(my cousin goes there) with my aunt and uncle. Maybe I should have said we're going to North Bend and Erton Emad to disguise my whereabouts a little more. Ha :P Anyway, this should be fun. I mean who doesn't like chocolate? ...and Notre Dame too that is :) Now what was I going to say... Emma should post. I enjoy reading her blog and Eric's too but sometimes they need to post more. And Eric, it should be okay that I don't post much on my other blog because I have this one kept current most of the time! Unlike some people. This mostly concerns Emma though, it's been a month and I need something to read. Let's seeeeee, what else is there? Oh yeah, I have 35 new songs on my mp4 to listen to during our trip. Yay. And I can't seem to put the brown ruffled dress on eBay from my mind. I just love the style of it. So cute! Okay, well today's been great (especially 4th period) and now Supernanny is on. I guess I'll go watch tv then. TGIF everybody!

Silk and Diamonds

TGIF! ...oh, wait... nevermind. :P Anyway, happy Thursday instead because that means tomorrow is Friday and that makes me happy too. My knee is becoming very bruised due to some locker issues. I've been having trouble closing my locker but one nice jab with the knee gets it shut. It's a lot harder to close it with my hand(I have to hit it really hard) and I really don't want to have to kick my locker. But the knee solution is perfect. The only problem is that I have these bruises, but whatever I don't mind as long as I'm not late to class because my locker won't shut. Also, has anyone seen the Mitch Daniels campaign commercial? My mom and I both agree it's well done. It's very eye catching and the background music is catchy but not annoying. It really draws your attention and it shows all the best of Mitch Daniels. It's better than some of the presidential ads that's for sure. Those all just seem generic and boring. If you're going to make a campaign ad at least give it a little something else. The commercials could just add a little pizazz but still stick to the important facts on why you should vote for that person like Daniels' ad does. Also, has everyone been watching the debates? I've seen them all so far and I can't believe it but I actually found them interesting. (I'm glad I don't have to vote, ha, because I see Obama and McCain as fairly evenly matched and I've been having trouble picking a side) But enough on politics, ummmm... what else is there to say? ...I found an absolutely gorgeous dress on eBay! It's brown, sleeveless, knee-length, and it has these pretty ruffles down the skirt. I want it so badly. Of course, what reason would I have to ever wear it? Out to dinner? For a wedding or nice event? Maybe I could put it with jeans if it's not too long? Who knows, but I want it!

Shipping and Handling Free

Ebay. Ebay. Ebay. Ebay is my friend. I've only bought one or two things on eBay before, but I really enjoy browsing the site(and the internet in general) to look at various things I don't need but have decided I might buy eventually. Of course I never do buy them. But it's still nice to look. I just like seeing various pretty trinkets like rings or lockets or shoes or makeup. Sometimes I look at more interesting stuff, for instance I also enjoy looking at weapons. Daggers, swords, the occasional bow and arrow, not really guns though, mostly things that have can more artistic craftsmanship. Ebay's great. There's so much variety on there. I also often search houses, motorcycles, and cars too. (basically I search things that I don't need, so I won't feel the urge to buy them) Okay I've been listening to Pandora for awhile now, and it's currently playing "Rocket Man" by Elton John. ... Anyway, I just love surfing eBay. Right now I'm looking at some cute rings, and a cool pen that's actually a camcorder. Interesting.

Such Pain In My Head

My head hurts so much right now. I'm getting the worst migraines and I couldn't focus at all earlier. I have the weirdest feeling too, I'm very disoriented. For instance, I was walking into this room earlier and I walked right into the desk and hurt my leg on the corner of the table. It's like I couldn't see certain things or they weren't registering in my mind. I think it's because I got hit on the head twice in a row yesterday while we were playing lacrosse in gym. I have a little lump on my forehead now from the second hit and that's where the headaches are focused. I took some ibuprofen but that hasn't helped at all. Augh! My head hurts so bad!!! It's crazy it's so painful. Of course, mom isn't home right now and won't be back for another three hours. She's out with my aunts today. Anyway, not much else going on right now, other than headaches.

Later...

Well, my headaches have lessened now. Thank goodness. I was at party tree about an hour ago because they had a "Spooktacular" event thing. It was pretty cool actually, mainly because they had free stuff. They had these four prize stands and you'd get four free tickets to use on whichever stands(each game cost 1 ticket). If you lost the game at the stand(and they were really pretty easy) you got a piece of candy, and if you won you got a Webkinz Lil'Kinz(I ended up with 2 webkinz). Isn't that cool? And the whole thing was free. It kind of surprised me because the tag on the webkinz showed that they were $9.50. I guess they expected a lot of people to buy things after looking around the store because they were giving away a ton of webkinz. I also got my hair spray painted purple. Yay! Anyway, I'm very happy it's Saturday. If it weren't for the weekend I'd go insane. :)

E Vivo Ancor!

We just got back from watching the Indianapolis Opera Company in a dress recital of "Il Trovatore" and I really enjoyed it. Although I did start getting a little sore after the second hour of sitting. In all, we were at the performance for three hours. Long time. But length aside, the singing was fantastic and I loved every minute of it. Something really, well, odd that happened after the performance was that this girl came up as we were leaving and asked me if I was there for recital credit. What? When I said no she asked me to take this slip of paper up to the woman at the front desk. Apparently it was for her friend who could only be there for the first half of the performance so she would still recieve "recital credit" Huh. So, kind soul that I am, I did as she asked. Of course, as I was walking back from the desk the woman had me come back and she pointed at a line on the paper saying I had to write the name of the teacher who told me to go to the performance. Okaaay sure. So, thinking on my feet, I told her it wasn't any one teacher who suggested I go for credit. I'm not exactly sure my answer made much sense but she just said she'd take it anyway and I walked away. It was all very odd. Let's just say it caught me off guard.
