Just so you know...

...I'm not dead! Woo! Yeah. Not dead. Just lazy. But now I'm back! :O I haven't posted in FOREVERRRR. My life has just been so full of.. school. :/ Learning and homework. And as of this week, finals. Which, so far, have actually gone quite well! I take my last two tomorrow and then I'm FREE! Yay! Sooo I should be studying right now.. so here are some pictures to occupy you.

Some of the items I've made in art class :D

This is what I spent an hour of my evening doing:

And here's Winston!
In case you can't tell, he loves the snow too.

Stay The Same

I really like this :]

endless entertainment

I'm currently finding large amounts of joy in wearing a baggy, over-sized, multicolored sweater around the house along with a pair of black leggings. In the middle of the night.. I just looked at the clock! Goodness I should be sleeping, I think. Anyway, I have this fantastic new sweater all thanks to Goodwill! I went to get a sweatshirt and other items to wear on Monday, which is is themed as 80's workout day, for homecoming week. Originally, we found this sweater with the intent of cutting the sleeves off and making them into leg warmers, but now I'm not sure if I can bear to do it! It's so delightfully big and colorful! (royal blue, purple, a dark lime-ish green, turquoise, and black) I'm debating now whether I should wear this sweater instead of the sweatshirt.. I'm definitely going to be getting some other leggings or sweater to make into leggings, but should I wear the sweater? Or perhaps it isn't very workout-y, since it is a kind of chunky knit sweater... Hm.

perhaps we should have a pumpkin c"rave"

Because that would be SO FUN right? In all honesty, I'm not sure how well pumpkins go with dancing.. But hey, you never know until you try! ;D I'm just posting a post for the sake of posting, I think. I have large quantities of relatively simple homework this weekend! Something I actually kind of like.. wow. Well, I'd much rather have a bunch of worksheets and minor assignments, as opposed to having a couple of big projects or writing assignments! This way, even if it takes the same amount of time to do my homework, I can check off each assignment when it's finished, and by the time I'm done I feel like I've accomplished a lot! Yay for having nerd opinions on homework.
So, I went ice skating yesterday evening! :D It was lots o' fun, even though I fell twice.. Teehee. But I got up again! You're never going to keep me down! Yup. Anyway, now I'm somewhat sore! But not too much that I don't feel like going rollerblading if I can find time to today. And, I definitely would enjoy going ice skating again soon! It had been awhile since I'd last gone, and I really forgot how much I enjoy it, despite my poor skills, and what a good activity it is for spending time with friends. :] Sooo.. if anyone wants to go ice skating next next Friday at 7:30pm, count me in. Because this coming Friday I have my school's homecoming game and (maybe) dance to go to. After experiencing Carmel's, it feels like ours might be total failure in comparison. Except for the grinding... one good aspect, at our homecoming we will definitely have less grinding.

Whpff Shfft

Whenever I'm walking down a hallway at school I feel like I look depressed or something because I usually have a blank, bored look on my face. But if I smiled more often I would probably look like a grinning idiot. Still, I want to look approachable and friendly... Which is better, grinning idiot or expressionless tired person?

Also, I never think about how my knees always brush/knock against eachother while I'm walking until I wear my corduroy pants(which I did today) and it makes an annoying noise.. this bothered me all day today. I really like these pants, they're a maroon/red-violet color and skinny fit, but seriously, all day it was whpff shfft whpff shfft as I went from class to class. >.< ...I'm not sure that onomatopoeia is quite right.. but, in my defense, it's a really hard sound to describe.

Also also, my backpack is magic. It's pretty crazy. I couldn't find my phone for a couple days, and I knew it had to be somewhere at home, so I searched all over the house for it. When I got home from school today I was looking, and happened to check my backpack for it for the billionth time.. and I finally found it! It was in the bottom of the bag.. but really, what is up with that?! I emptied my bag twice when I was looking the other day! Maybe I'm just bad at finding things. Yeah..

Also also also: Happy first day of October and HAPPY WEEKEND :D I have lots of homework to do, but none of it is major, so I'm fairly pleased myself. ^_^

Oh No Oh No Oh No !

So I just tried to go to this site and blogger showed that my blog had been deleted !!! I'm not really sure what happened.. But anyway, the problem has been resolved. Clearly! :P Hm, how is Gemma entering a post in the afternoon on a school day? I'm not at school! D: *depressed frown* I stayed home today because last night before going to bed I had a really long period of intense crazy abdominal pain, which somewhat came back this morning.

My first thoughts after becoming delirious with pain?
  1. "I AM NEVER DANCING AROUND THE HOUSE FOR TWENTY MINUTES STRAIGHT AFTER EATING DINNER EVER AGAIN."
  2. "Maybe this is because of those cookies I ate?! Darn it! Darn you cookies!"
  3. "dfjhaflkfjd aaaeuuuhghghghgh paaaaiiin"
  4. "...oh no. Oh No Oh No Oh No ! WHAT IF IT'S MY APPENDIX?!???!?!"
  5. "Eungh. Ima die. Ow."

The Ramblings of a Crazy

So today I realized that I really am the creepiest person I know! Really. You cannot try to dispute the fact, because I know it to be true. *hysterical crazy grinning and laughter* Nothing wrong with it, but if you know me... you know I am a crazy stalker freak! (and quite proficient at it! hahaha) Maybe we all are though, what with the convenience of the internet now. Maybe I'm not the only one! Well, no, I know I'm not the only one.. But still, I'm crazy! Seriously people. Hide your kids. Hide your wife. Don't believe me? You have my thanks, I'm flattered. :P

Edit: Okay. It turns out I'm not the creepiest person I know. I stand corrected. xD

real men will let you put sparkles in their hair

School is going fine. I always seem to be working on homework, but I think that might be my workaholic personality more than anything. Because my brother never seems to do homework but is still getting good grades.. So, right now I'm writing a post while I should be studying for a rather big in class essay I have on Monday. The last of my homework... I've been putting it off all weekend. I would say that my procrastination makes me less of a nerd, but I was still doing lots of other work. ...because I procrastinated it on it.. I see now. I'm not a nerd/workaholic, I just procrastinate on things so that I have a ton of homework to do all the time? Yeah. I have no idea.

Either way, this weekend was also CHS homecoming, and even though I don't attend CHS, I got to go! Because I would be going there if I didn't go to Brebeuf and all my bestest friends go there. Why am I even explaining this? You know this! Probably. Anyway, IT WAS SO AWESOME. I went to the homecoming game on Friday evening and it was great! It was really nice to see all my friends and old buddies :D Also, we didn't really watch much of the game.. Some people behind us were being obnoxious and throwing cans into the crowd(how immature) so we sort of ended up hanging around outside the stadium and talking. It was fun. And then Saturday night, THAT WAS AWESOME. :] I love dancing. I did so much dancing on Saturday night, with the music and the people and the jumping and the fist pumping. It was rather intense. I also have the feeling my school's homecoming would be completely different.. different atmosphere, far fewer people, less sweat maybe? I'm not sure if I'll be going to the Brebeuf homecoming(the dance part at least).. but I guess it might be a good idea? For the sake of comparison at least. ;] Alright, now it's time I focused my thoughts on the rise and fall from power of the Hittite rulers, Anittas, Hattusilis I, Mursilis, and Hantili. The Hittites were an Indo-European tribe who, while Hammurabi was taking Mesopotamia and uniting it by force, were joining into small kingdoms. The Egyptians knew them as Ht, a title from the name of their homeland: Hatti, the territory of the Hittites. Though their kingdom was formed in strength and bore many conquests, the story of the Hittite dynasty is a tumultuous one... -_- sigh. (if you managed to read through this post and actually find it even semi-interesting, you have my praise)

If I Was a Boy at Sea

Happy Monday! I like how, after listening to this song, I always end up feeling energetic and peaceful at the same time.. plus, Discovery is the combination of Rostam Batmanglij (from Vampire Weekend) and Wes Miles (from Ra Ra Riot), which is pretty great.

Welcome To Friday

This week has been INTENSE. I started school on Monday, and it has been very interesting. I was really nervous to be starting, especially since I'm attending an entirely new school where I didn't yet know a ton of people, but I'd say it's gotten better as the days have progressed. Today was a lot of fun, and we had a pep rally at the end of the day where everyone was full of energy. Still, I am sooo happy the weekend is here. I'm probably going to fall into a short term coma tonight and wake up Sunday morning refreshed and ready to do lots of homework. Haha, oh boy. So, one interesting thing I learned today was in art where the teacher got out some clay at the end of the class and was talking about our first project. (we're going to be making tea bowls.. eventually.. so far we've spent class learning about Japanese tea ceremonies and Zen Buddhism) So, he was setting the clay on a wooden board and describing how we would store our creations when he stopped and showed us how he had dried clay on his hands. Apparently, if you clap/rub your hands together to get the clay off it will send out little particles that you'll inhale, but won't be able to exhale. If you work as an art teacher or work with clay very often then these clay particles can build up and eventually trap water in your lungs causing you to essentially drown in your own fluids over time. So, the moral of this story is that you should wet your hands to get rid of excess clay! Intense indeed.

Okay I Lied

I don't feel like posting much else about our vacation in England! And I was going to post some footage taken during the trip, but I can't seem to get the video in a format I can edit.. So that's not happening either! Darn. (I'm sure you don't mind) So instead I'll just show you this picture(that I took on my cellphone! I'm surprised at the quality.. I thought it would be much worse):

...pretzel m&m's! Because my mom and I kept seeing them advertised but couldn't find them in any stores.. until yesterday when we were at kroger! Now that I've tried them I can say that they are good. Not AMAZING or anything, but yummy for sure.

My second point in this post is that if you happen to be a visitor of this FANTASTIC PILLAR OF NONFICTION INTERNET LITERATURE then you should leave a comment on this post! If you want to. Don't have to. I'm just wondering who's around! :]

Guess What?

I AM HOME :D And even though it's only 8:21pm here, I'm too tired to do an actual post. So you just come back later(like tomorrow.. or the next day?) for more information on how my vacation in England went! Because right now in England, because of the 5 hour time difference, it is 1:21am. So I'm really sleepy. Good night.

Because It's Important

I like this sign.

It was outside a park near Highgate Cemetery where we went to visit Karl Marx's grave.
(which was Spencer's idea)

How To Do The Laundry..

1. Open the drum door.
If the door cannot be opened, see "Problem Solving Guide"
Also, make sure there are no cats or small animals inside the appliance before and after using it. That could be bad.

We were trying to figure out how to use the washer/dryer in the apartment where we're staying in Bristol, hence the instruction manual pictured below.

These scenic pictures were taken from the car on our way to visit stonehenge.

And this is stonehenge!

...and this is a swan! This picture was taken when we went punting(a punt is a type of boat) in Oxford.

So... I'd say we've been enjoying England greatly thus far!
We've visited:
  • Bristol(which has sort of been the base camp for all of our other trips out)
  • Bath with the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey
  • Stonehenge(which was actually pretty cool, we were especially lucky to have had great weather on the day we visited)
  • Salisbury with Salisbury Cathedral(a really quite impressive place in terms of archictecture and artistry)
  • Oxford where we toured around and visited Christ Church and some universities (and went punting)
  • Blenheim Palace(another really impressive and beautiful place) My favorite part was the area around the Palace including the gardens and landscaping, all of which was designed by Capability Brown.
  • The Cottswolds including the villages of: Bourton-on-the-Water, Slaughter, Snowshill, and Broadway
And now we're back in Bristol getting ready to take the train to London, where we'll stay for 4 days. Then we head off to Loughborough for my mom's cousin's wedding! (which is actually the reason we're in England)

Other interesting pictures:
Chimney pots viewed from the apartment in Bristol

A flower monster! Salisbury is heavily populated with these creatures...

The dam at Blenheim Palace which was constructed in order to form a water feature for the palace grounds.
Quite impressive I think. ^_^ And pretty!

Good Morning

Laura asked in one of her posts whether big urban cities or farmhouse countryside sorts of areas are more preferable. I vote cities, or perhaps the outskirts of a big city. I wouldn't want to be directly in the center of a big urban city, but I'd prefer that to living in a farmhouse? Actually, now I'm wondering about the other options that were left out here. What about villages? Or cities/counties in England like Bristol, the Clifton area to be specific(my current location!), that are so fantastic and pretty. Or Cape Cod, which is neither big city nor village nor countryside exactly. That is the area, or sort of area, I'd want to live in, anywhere around there really.

"So Bristol," you might ask, "how's that going?" Now that we're here, we arrived yesterday at 9am their time(it was 4am Indiana time though...), and now that we've overcome much of our jet lag and exhaustion, I'd say Bristol is going well enough. While we've had a few mishaps, for instance, Spencer broke his glasses when we were in the Indianapolis airport shortly before we had to board our plane, but they've all pretty much worked themselves out. I and my mom both got a little sick yesterday after having some coffee in one of the local coffee shops, we're suspecting it was the caffiene on top of jet lag and lack of sleep(because neither of us got any sleep on the 6ish hour plane ride), but now we've quite fully recovered. We all also went to bed really early yesterday, as we all, not surprisingly, quickly became exhausted nearing the end of the day.

For the problem of Spencer's glasses, after we arrived yesterday we scheduled an appointment at a Vision Express, where they can have your glasses ready in 1 hour, and went to the mall... where they have an Optical Express and a Vision Express. So of course we had to go in the Optical Express(which is the first that we saw), asked them if they were the place we scheduled our appointment, explained our situation, and somehow ended up deciding to cancel our appointment at Vision Express and instead go to this new place because they said they could help us out quicker. After spending about 30 minutes or more in the Optical Express getting Spencer's prescription and trying to pick out frames, we discovered their onsite lab technician guy got off shift at 5:30pm. It was 5:20 when they told us this. So, having already gotten Spencer's prescription(which they kindly gave us for free since we ended up not buying anything, normal charge is £15), we headed off to the Vision Express, because we didn't want to have to come back the next day to pick up the glasses at the Optical Express, where we ended up picking out a pair of frames that had a buy one get one free sort of deal, so we got that pair and then chose to have the second pair as sunglasses, so we picked out a thicker plastic frame and for £10 had the lenses tinted gray. Of course, the tint could take a little more than 2 hours to take, so we would have to come back the next day. Great right? But it's okay, because we decided we might as well just drive back to pick up the glasses since we're getting our rental car today anyway. So, all in all, the mishap sorted itself out, and now Spencer has his glasses, and in about an hour he'll have some prescription sunglasses!

And in about two hours we'll be off to Bath for some sightseeing!
Forgive me for the long post(hahaha).. there may or may not be more to come.
P.S. Why is Gemma up at 5:39am?!?! I'm not, silly, it's actually 10:39am in England. (hopefully you could've deduced that on your own)

The Natural Awakening

Birds. This morning I awoke to birds. Chirping, no, yelling through my open window... and through every other open window in the house, as I realized when the obnoxious noise continued even after I shut mine. 5am is not when I care to awake on a Saturday morning in the middle of summer. And of course, once I rise that early, I just can't get back asleep! ...Not when nature is yakking away full volume outside. So instead of sleeping I went downstairs and read.

Hopefully, I'll get better rest and actually wake up tomorrow at the time I plan, more like 7 or 8, since I need to vacuum the pool and maybe go for a bike ride before we head off to the airport to pick up my grandmother. She's flying in from Florida to then fly with us to England on Wednesday. :D And once she gets here it's off we go to get food and other stuffs because we're having relatives over for the 4th of July! My hopes for a bike ride keep getting pushed around to make room for other plans, which is perfectly fine by me, but that's why I'm considering going in the morning tomorrow. (I think my determination on getting a good bike ride in are simply the longing for a bit of wind in the hair and relaxing exercise, where my rollerblades just aren't cutting it. I love rollerblading, especially in the fall, but in the summer sun I'd rather be on a bicycle.)

Also, has anyone noticed any REALLY big squirrels lately? Because everywhere I look it seems there's some large(and by large I mean fat and adorable) squirrel bounding across the road, or charging up a tree, or taunting my dog. Maybe I just never noticed them before?

The First Taste

We got our English money! Pounds!

Isn't it pretty?? And they're different sizes! I think that makes so much sense! Our money is boring. Did you know in Australia their money is apparently made out of a polymer/plastic?

Anyway here's a video I found when I was browsing and looking up the song Supermassive Black Hole because it is a good song and I realized I somehow don't have it in my massive collection of music when I thought I did.

This is definitely a different style than the original song by Muse, but I like it ^_^

Repeat

Last day of summer school! Finally! I'm free! Now I need to work to get ready for my family's trip to England in two weeks. I also have to try to make up on lost reading and hanging out time. :D

I Can Find Meaning By Myself

I am now a third of the way done with summer school. Yay. Two more weeks to go, that's not too bad... Even though its two more weeks of class, from 7:30 in the morning to 4pm. I'll live. :P I hope summer is treating everyone well, and now I'm off to write a six page reflection paper on my religious beliefs and traditions.. since summer isn't treating me well, it's just giving me homework. Ha, thanks world religions class.

Done

Well. Today was the last day of school! It still feels weird, I can't believe it. Summer is HERE!
I'm happy and sad at the same time really. There are a lot of people I'm going to miss seeing everyday. And also this means I'm closer to summer school, which may be really awful. I've yet to decide what exactly to expect. As well, each day now is a day closer to the end of summer and a new school without any of my friends. All the more reason not to waste my time.

They Resemble My Own

So camping was lots of fun, and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves. Yay! Now only 2 days left of school. OH MY GOODNESS. It's just crazy! Absolutely mad! I'm almost sad. Almost.. :P
We started the geometry final today in math and it was actually pretty reasonable/simple. I expect the second half tomorrow will be massively difficult and I may leave class wishing I had more than one brain... Can't wait to see how that goes! And now I must go finish writing thank you notes to each of my teachers because I'm a good person. :D

I leave you with this footage & some photos from the camping trip to further illustrate the experience:

And this is an item that Alyssa, one of the girls on the trip, found near our campsite. I think they're some kind of teeth maybe?

Go Nature!

I am going camping! Yes! Awesome! I enjoy camping.
Today is also Friday and I have only 3 days left of school!
Yay!
And I have a couple finals on Monday and Tuesday...
Not so yay.
But still, fun stuff. :P
We got our yearbooks todayyy! Lots and lots of signatures and fun times were had, and there are still more that I intend to acquire. :D
Oh my gosh, I just can't believe how much excitement and intensity is being packed into the next week of my life! Yeah! Well. I can believe it. But still! Oh my goodness, the crash that I will be having the second week of summer. I'll probably end up sleeping for a couple days straight. xD
Anyway, I'm leaving for TURKEY RUN now! to go CAMPING! er.. in about 10 minutes!
So this post is basically over...
Bye!

Hungry Hungry Hungry

Pretty much all I can think about right now is how hungry I am. Hahahaha! Yeah, but luckily we're going to get dinner(thai food and pizza!) in a bit. I just wanted to do a quick post first, mainly so I could share the song I have below. It's called "Lady Labyrinth" by Ludovico Einaudi, and I quite like it. :P So, listen to it. All of it. :D

It's Such a Perfect Day

We have a three day weekend! Hurrah! I'm so glad to have Monday off :D
I plan to make the most of this extra time!

...By sleeping! ...Well, no, not really.

Instead I shall spend my weekend:
  • perfecting my ability to throw discus, if it is nice enough outside :] (I bought a discus on Wednesday ^_^)
  • working on this project we have in science where we have to do a presentation on a natural disaster (I chose to study hurricanes)
  • rollerblading! again, only if I find the weather to be appropriate.. it is supposed to rain I believe, but hey, I can still go outside if it's just drizzling a bit!
  • finding a recipe to make for my Spanish class, as we're having a pitch-in food day for Cinco de Mayo
  • doing all my other homework xD because I have a lot.
I never post videos, but I feel like I should! So here's this:

grr! Can't embed the video. Just click to view it on YouTube then. ^_^

Also, did you know that rainbows occur when water droplets reflect light at a 42 degree angle?

I Recycle Paper!

I also recycle wood by burning it so I can keep myself warm and toast marshmallows.

 Happy Earth Day!

How do you do your part to help THE ENVIRONMENT which we are constantly surrounded by?

The Nature of Being

I can hardly believe it, but it's 9ish in the evening and I have finished all the homework to be done for tomorrow, as well as the other stuff that I felt compelled to finish up ahead of time. Wow. I could go to bed at 9:30 if I wanted! ...but I won't. Well... I might. I just might, because I am exhausted from a long day of school! and track! and WORK! and all the other exhaustion that simply comes from being! and thinking! about people! and stuff! and yeah, so I'm tired.

In other news, I just had a huge weight of stress lifted from my shoulders yesterday! What, you may wonder, was causing this stress? The thought of having to play my flute for the band/orchestra director at Brebeuf. It was this placement sort of testy thingy, I guess, to see which music ensemble I should go into next year. And I was so nervous. SOOO nervous! But, thankfully, it all turned out okay, I didn't embarrass myself, and the band director was nice! Yay!

Speaking of next year, highschool, the future, and all that, another thing I can hardly believe is the short amount of time we have left in the school year. It's like, what, five weeks? Six? Something around there. I've still not decided whether this makes me extremely happy, apprehensive, or sad. Because, there is so much to rejoice in the nearness of summer, but then again, that means highschool is all the closer, hence my apprehension. And of course it brings sadness as well, since, once this school year ends, I won't see any of my friends again in school. There are a lot of people I'm going to miss. How depressing! Change is just so difficult sometimes.

And all I can say now is, rest in peace Mr. Akin. He was the principal of my elementary school, and he passed away this past Thursday.

EspaƱol Es Muy Divertido, ¿No?

I needed to write a six or more sentence paragraph(in Spanish) describing myself or any athlete I know as part of my Spanish homework. Since I am so nice I've decided to post my wonderful and most magnificent paragraph, written about my dearest amiga Natalie. See if you can translate! (try google translate if Spanish isn't for you) :P Hopefully this is grammatically correct...

You Are What You Eat?

Yesterday marked the beginning of my spring break. So far so good! I spent the day reading (Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson) and laying outside, and also picked up a bunch of the pine cones littering our backyard. Being my typical self I just had to spend about 15 minutes simply sitting and scraping sap off cones so I could burn it... It's fun, okay? Sap is especially fun to scrape from our pine trees in the summer when it just oozes out all over. It interests me to wonder what the actual composition of sap is exactly..

Today, since it rained, was spent mainly indoors. Most of my morning was devoted to finishing my book and then the rest of my time was used in making chocolate cupcakes for Easter at my granny and pa's tomorrow. They're quite cute, and delicious, treats if I do say so myself. Half have chocolate icing and half have vanilla, and each one is sprinkled with colored sugar and has three jellybeans in the center. ^_^ I also decorated my extra cupcakes as ninjas, and one was a chicken. :D

If I eat ninjas...
...does that make me a ninja?

I hope so.

(...or does that make me a cupcake ninja? ...or a cupcake chicken? ...or just a plain old cupcake?)

Note: I am trying to maintain a waking up hour of 8:30ish each morning over spring break, since that's when I've awoken naturally for the past two days. So I should probably get to bed. Oh and also, according to the blogger dashboard this is my 300th post. So, ah, yay! Let the cupcakes be my celebration.

Second note: I just realized that since it's past 12am, it's technically Sunday. Time to sleep yes.

Hot Orange Spice Tea..

..it's my constant companion when sick.   :] And today, I am sick. :[ I've been feeling ill since, I'm not sure, Wednesday last week I suppose. I was getting sick already, but I blame track for provoking it. The first day in particular, as it was cold and I chose to leave my sweatshirt inside the building, wearing only a t-shirt and knit capris to run in. I make such good decisions, right? So now, I've been suffering congestion, sore throat, overall ache, etc. I stayed home on Thursday in hopes of recovery, but it didn't seem to help. Now, I'm hoping staying home today will make me all better for school tomorrow! I'm sick of being sick.

On a more positive note, I am actually enjoying track. The feeling you get after practice, where you're so sore, but pleased with yourself for the exercise, I love it! It's nice to be active, especially considering I don't participate in any other sports.
Looking out the window right now, there's clear blue sky and sun, it just makes me wish I were outside running around. Sigh* spring! SPRINGGG! I love it. Even the rain, which we experienced yesterday, puts me in a good mood. The only thing that I'm slightly dreading is the heat that's going to come eventually. That tends to make it a little more difficult to appreciate track.

Also, another of my sick companions: the music of Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, and the rest of the music pandora deems similar. Seriously, I've been listening all day, and it greatly improves my mood. ^_^

Note: And now I've found out that I have three tests tomorrow. hyperventilating* I need to study. Agh.

3.141592653589...

It's time to celebrate! Oh yes! Because:
  1. The play is over, both performances were great, and the whole experience was fun
  2. Track starts tomorrow... I am going.. that's a good reason to celebrate! I guess? I mostly enjoy track, exhaustion, sore muscles, and all!
  3. Today is PI DAY
  4. It is SPRING. (for the most part) I love that.
Number 3 is particularly important, considering the title of this very blog! Which is, actually quite random. I mean, I like pie. And numbers, I guess. So I like pi. And I suppose I enjoy the occasional play on words. But really, I can't entirely remember my reasoning behind the name of this site. Ohh, in my younger years I don't think I cared enough to require deep meaning in things such as the title of my blog. Or my email address. Ugh, you know what I mean for those who have it.

Also, numero 4! Spring is my favorite season. It pleases me greatly. ^_^ What with the not too hot/cold weather, budding plant life, rain, sun and clouds, and even the smellll of spring. What a wonderful time.

Point #1, now that I think about it, does have its downsides. I've really enjoyed being in the musicals at Clay. This year and in the years past I've had so much fun. So, now that the play is over it sort of brings on more of the realization that highschool is coming closer. More importantly, Brebeuf is coming closer. shudders* I am excited and yet, I find myself afraid. I'm not sure. I just don't want to lose any of the people that I love to be around here at Clay. And what if I fail at making new friends?! Aack!

Hmm, well this is all out of order, but I suppose I should talk about Number 2 as well... Basically, I enjoy running. And exercise makes me feel happy and healthy. So I'm fairly excited for track. Well. Not excited. Just, glad that it's here. I'm not hugely overjoyed or anything. xD

    Some Things Just Happen

This weekend was quite eagerly awaited. It's a nice reprieve, as we had no play practice on Saturday when we would normally. (although the principle cast went from 10am to 12, HAha)
I also have hardly any homework! How pleasing!
So, I spent Saturday relaxing and I intend to do the same today. Therefore, I have nothing interesting to report.
    Sorry.
Well. I have one thing... I BURNT MY HAND. OW. D:
It's true. I burnt the side of my right hand yesterday. On our toaster oven. :[ I now have three tender, blistery, pinkish places on my hand.
No fear though! I shall recover! To be honest it doesn't hurt too much anymore. But gosh, it was quite a pain last night.

    The Seagull's Name is Jonathan

We had to wear our costumes today at practice. Urg. I guess I don't mind wearing a matronly, light green, floor length dress... too much. I guess.

Sooo, this Saturday we took a bit of a field trip after play practice on Thursday! We went to Hook's drugstore (an old-timey sort of drugstore, museum, and candy store) to "get into character" and "learn about the time period" ...that sort of thing. ^_^ And of course, to learn the difference between an ice cream soda and an ice cream float. It is a key bit of info which all people should be acquainted with:
Soda=carbonated drink and flavoring and ice cream mixed together
Float=just soda pop aka "phosphate" with ice cream in it
Okay. So mainly I went to get the ice cream soda.
And. It. Was. Yummy. (mine was cherry flavoring with chocolate ice cream)
I also purchased some candy. There is no resisting candy.

Also, today and tomorrow we have ISTEP+(Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus, what's with the "Plus" part?) Which MEANS: No extra homework today! We'll still have shortened classes tomorrow though, in addition to the testing. Phooey. Anyway, we had MATHEMATICS and ENGLISH testing today. For the prompt we needed to write a fictional story about someone who does something they were afraid of doing or didn't think they could accomplish. I wrote about a girl who's afraid of elevators. xD

Now, I need to stop typing stuff on here and finish the project I now need to do for Language Arts. I thought it was due on Friday, but it's actually due Wednesday... Sigh!

ONE MORE THING: My mouth is blue! :P It's the result of one of the candies I got from Hook's which is deliciously blueberry flavored and full of artificial blue coloring. Fantastic!

    I Am No Cannibal!

I don't eat people! Just in case anyone might've been wondering.
Because, of course, it's a totally relevant and obvious possibility that anyone might ask about..

It has been awhile since my last post. Not much has happened.
More play practice, which has been fun and entertaining. :D And hmmm. Monotony. Homework. That sort of thing.
The wire for my bottom braces keeps coming out at the back which is annoying. Need to go get that fixed.. Ow. It pokes me in the cheek. Not like anyone needs to know this, but it's quite a bother!
Now, I am switching between eating beans, practicing flute, typing, and studying science. Multitasking for the win! And soon, thanks to my mama when she gets home, I will be able to add a Steak 'N Shake mint cookies 'n cream milkshake to the list of tasks. Hopefully I'll have finished the beans...

    If I Ever Feel Better

I forgot to mention in my last post that I'm not feeling too great health-wise. I don't think anyone has been lately; I suppose there's something going around. Really, this past week it seems there have been a TON of people absent from school. And now I am included in this sick person club. Yay. >_<
So yes, I was absent from school today due to sneezing, coughing, sore throat, fever, and general all over achiness. Oh and don't forgot exhaustion. I am surprised at how much I've slept today! Of course, it hasn't helped and I feel almost worse than I did this morning. Bleurgh. That's all I have to say about that.
And now I hope maybe we'll get enough snow tomorrow to have a snow day so I don't have to make the decision on whether or not I'm well enough to go to school. You may wonder, what decision can there be? Stay home! But, alas, I am a nerd. I've spent the entire day worrying about homework and classes and such. For instance:

    Language Arts:
What will I do about our literature circle group presentations from our plays?! (my group is reading from "You Can't Take It With You") I had the paper with prop ideas and everyone's parts! Ack. And I need to study Word Within the Word!
Wellness: Whatever. ;P Pardon me for my lack of caring, but there isn't a ton to miss..
Social Studies: I checked online and apparently we have to bring in a political cartoon? What specifically?! And how will I get the notes we took today?!
Art: I still haven't finished painting my clay snowman since I missed class the day it was due for my doctor's appointment! And I forgot to grab a sheet to sketch my ideas for the coil pot projects which I would be starting work on today. GAAH.
Band: ..Well I just need to remember to turn in the homework sheet I was supposed to turn in today. And practice more I guess?
Science: Gah! I'm going to have to take the quiz we had today! Will it be hard? I need to keep studying! I shouldn't be playing around on the computer!
Math: Absolute. Fear. And. Horror. Miss one day of notes, I will be so confused now in class. I'm going to fail! FAILLL!

...No wonder I'm not feeling any better.

Whatever It Is It Can't Be Named

Yay February! Yay six more weeks of winter! Honestly though, how much indication is there to be had in the actions of a small furry creature the name of which I have trouble spelling? Not much. Still, I hope this winter season can continue its course. Maybe dump a bit more snow on us? I think we're supposed to get a bit this Friday. Joy!
It seems, among other things, I've noticed I write a lot about the weather. I guess it's just an important part of my wonderfully entertaining life. Ha. Maybe I just can't think of much to write about because my life is so BORING! My blog is not fun to read at all. It is SO lame and uninteresting. No one reads it. My life is a lie! This blog is a lie! Rawr. Heehee. Self deprecation. ;]

So.. Anyway, let's seeeee what has happened today... Among other things:
    • Emma came back to school after being sick for SO LONG (two days without Emma is too long ;] haha)
    • I had a doctor's appointment and went to Panera for lunch (a realization: I seem to have appointments during the school day on a fairly regular basis)
    • Sophia doubled over laughing at a comment I made and hit her head on my flute case! ..Sorry! xD
    • We had play practice after school! It wasn't too boring or anything. It actually went by pretty quickly.
    • Also, I laughed a lot today
And now I am eating slices of French baguette from Panera with peach jelly slathered on top, along with a pile of almonds and a glass of milk... My food choices aren't quite sophisticated, but they do taste yummy!

One more thing, like the picture? I can't remember if I've had this one up before or not.

I Too Enjoy The Sound of My Voice

Not really though. If I'm thinking, I don't usually do it out loud. Maybe I should try that though..

So, in the time since my last post: I've gotten my bottom braces put on (highly bothersome), gone to play practices and had LOADS of fun (sort of), started my art class (ceramics, which I am really enjoying!) for this quarter, received and completed lots of homework, and now my foot is asleep. Why do our limbs do this? Hmmm? And how can I make it stop?! Research time. Hmm. Interesting.
Anyway, as I was saying I've had quite a lot of homework.
Well, now in the language arts class that somewhat irritates me we have a RESEARCH PROJECT! Oh boy. My only homework this long weekend (oh yes, we have Monday off from school yay!) consists of band practice, which I enjoy, and this research project. Technically, we only have the outline for our paper due on the Tuesday we have back at school, but the rough draft is due the next day. The rough draft of a 4-5 page paper. So I will be getting that started then.. If I can avoid procrastinating... We'll see. So the topic I chose was the Zodiac Killer. Dun dun DUNNN! He was an unidentified serial killer in Northern California who murdered five, wounded two, and claimed in his cryptic letters to the press and authorities that he had done in quite a few more. Interesting.
