Lets Pull Teeth

Aaaaaaagh! OOOOOOOOOOOOUCHEEEEEEE! Geez my gums hurt. Especially the upper jaw where MY LEFT CANINE, THE TOOTH NEXT TO IT, AND MY OTHER CANINE WERE JUST REMOVED! AAAAAAAAAUGH. Sorry, it just hurts really bad. It's mostly the left canine because it really wasn't ready to come out. Oh well, it had to be done. Of course, now my mouth tastes like blood and gauze. An unpleasant mixture. Oh yeah, and the right side of my upper lip, my nose(yes my nose), and the right half my face is NUMB. Really really numb. My right cheek feels so weird right now. Even a little under my eye is numb which feels really odd. Gosh. GOSH! Hmph! I don't like this at all as you can probably tell. I think I'll go lay down, but I may take some pictures and add those later.

Climate Troubles

What a nice day it was today! Such strange weather we've been having this winter season. It felt like spring today and now not long ago it was pouring down rain. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and will also have fun with New Year's! I received many thoughtful presents which I am very pleased with. One of which is my new green ipod nano... not to brag or anything. ;) I also got some hair things, a stuffed dinosaur that walks and makes noise when activated by clapping, various foot care items as my feet are in poor condition this winter, a scarf, sweater, canvas, two wooden easels and other art supplies, and waaaaay too much money. Honestly, family members have been generous this year. I suppose the main thing is that I just got cash from my grandparents instead of having them try to buy us the equivelant in presents. Of course, it shall remain unspent. Whenever I get money as a gift I always stash it away and I never really spend it. It feels better to save money than to spend it at this point in my life because I really have nothing to buy. Plus it just feels good to save money and then be able to count it and watch the stockpile grow right? Anyway, I'm off. I hope everyone's enjoying the holidays!

Procrastinating

Mmmmmm. Yummy. Cue hallelujah chorus* I love banana nut muffins! Yesterday my momma went to the store and called to ask if I needed or wanted anything, perhaps a breakfast or lunch material as I would otherwise starve if I was going to attempt to spend my break eating whatever we had around. So, the thought struck me, after trying to figure out what I wanted for awhile, that perhaps I would get some banana nut muffins. Best choice ever!!!! She came home with a pack of four(now two and a half) delicious banana nut muffins. They're fluffy and they have just the right amount of nuts. YUUUUUMMMMY! And they're still as tastily moist as they were when they were first opened. I hate it when we get some form of baked good that's absolutely magnificent the first day and then overnight it gets all dry and crusty. Yick. But these!!! THESE MUFFINS ARE SO GOOD! Joy! Now, you may be thinking "well Gemma, they're just muffins, I bet I've had better" but I don't care 'cause I have muffins and you don't! :D ..well you might have muffins too, just not as good as mine. :P On another bit of info from yesterday... this is going to be an entirely yesterday post as it is only 11 and I only just got up. (heehee) Actually I've been up for an hour about, as if that's any better. I'm such a sleepyhead. Anyway, yesterday I made THE BEST GINGERBREAD HOUSE EVER. EVER! Lots of best evers huh? It's been a good winter break so far as a result. But about the gingerbread house, it came disassembled in a kit given to me by my Aunt Gloria. I think this is such a great gift! I mean, I had so much fun making this thing! And I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I spent the better part of my day working on it bent over at the kitchen counter though. As a result I now have a hunchback... :P kidding, but my back did hurt really bad, I probably should have gotten a lower chair or something so I wouldn't be hunched over my work. Oh well! Another thing I made yesterday, which only took a couple minutes, was THE BEST TINY RED YARN POM POM EVER! That's right, I made a pom pom. I felt it my moral duty to attempt it when I somehow came upon this site while looking around for crafting ideas and inspiration. ....That's about it for yesterday though, I really did spend my day on the gingerbread house. Ha. Now momma and I are off to Hobby Lobby, she needs bows and I yearn for fabric scraps and canvas. I hope everyone is enjoying their winter break. Or just winter in general. Oh yeah, we've got an Arctic Front coming apparently? Freezing cold weather(as if it wasn't already) I believe the high tomorrow is only 15. And the overnight low is 3 or 4 degrees?! Wow. Chilly eh? Okay I'm off for more muffin goodness and Hobby Lobby.

Later...

Wow. I waited the whole day and never posted this. It's now 11:06 PM. Ha. I was having trouble getting some pictures off the camera that I wanted to include in here. As I was watching the photos save I remembered another thing I was going to mention. I can't remember when it happened, it was Thursday I think. "Regardless" it was dinnertime and that's what's important. You see my brother Spencer was eating some sliced banana when he came upon this particular piece that he and my mother somehow found to resemble our dog Winston. ...Our dog. Seriously, it's a piece of fruit not a dog. :D

Banana
Dog
Really? I mean... really?

And now for the other items mentioned in the post...

Tiny Red Pom Pom (by the way I made another smaller one) ...I'm also wearing my new, received as a birthday present from momma, black arm warmers in the picture

Gingerbread House!!!

Banana Nut Muffin... or at least what was left of one. :P

I don't believe I've mentioned it but I got a bonsai tree from my Aunt Glenda for my birthday
...tiny tree!!! so awesome!!!!

And now....
...more Winston pictures!

Yarr Har Fiddle Di Dee

Heh heh. I'm a pirate! Ha, yah it seems I am a pirate in the school play. Fun! We'll see how that goes... :P I think it'll be a very enjoyable part, and anyway it was expected. Soooooo, everyone happy for winter break? ...Actually why do I even ask, I mean, who isn't happy for winter break? A real crazy that's who. I just loooooooove it. Finally a little vacation time. This is bound to be a fun and relaxing break. Plus, there's lots of time to spend with family. We might go skiing and or ice skating when my grandparents are here which would be nice. Anyway I'm off to fill my grumbling empty tummy.

Little Did He Know

Yaaaaaay! I am happy, no school Friday and I have half my math final done with. Wooh! I have three more tests to take this week including the other half of the math final that is. Also, in language arts we spent the entire period writing a narrative prompt. Mine was... okay. It had absolutely no plot, I mean, it really was boring but I don't much care. It might have turned into something good if I had more time and if instead of writing it on loose leaf paper I could have typed it up. Even then though the plot was so ...blegh, that I wouldn't have been able to make it much better. Oh well, I still enjoyed spending an entire period just writing. Anyway, I can't think of anything better to say but I'll probably think of something later which will then go into tomorrow's possible post.

In The Words Of My Emma "You Fail"

I typed this yesterday…

Our internet isn’t working, this is a post entirely typed in word. I feel so cut off! The tv’s aren’t working either. I don’t know exactly what the problem is, all I really know is that I can’t get on to check my email, talk to friends, or do any of the things I usually spend so much time on when I’m on the computer. It just feels so weird whenever this seldom occasion comes up that we have no internet or TV connection. It feels so detached. I can’t see what’s going on everywhere else, I can’t waste my time away as I often do surfing the web, and I can’t mindlessly entertain myself which I so enjoy. I’m ashamed to say that I'm addicted to the technology but it's true. Whenever we want or need to get on the internet or watch some TV we just can, it’s simply there and I don’t think another bit about it. But when it isn’t there, when I try to do what I am so used to having available and it doesn’t work, well it drives me crazy! I suppose it’s for the better because I can focus all my attention on my oral report once I finish this post. Yes, posting is more important than homework. Even when I can’t post what I’ve written until the internet starts working again. Ah well, I suppose I’d better get to work.

Later…

Well homework is done. I have nothing to do. Still no connection, guh. And I have nothing to read either. I mean, we have tons of books but I’ve read most of them and I just don’t feel like reading. Ho-hum.

Later Later…

Agh! I’m so bored!

Speeding

I really hope this week goes by as quickly as last week did. I can't wait for Monday. BIRTHDAY DAY YAY! Of course, I also can't wait for the coming morrow. Eeeeh, I'm so happy! I got a callback and I go right away tomorrow so I'm fairly excited. I have nothing else important happening though so I'm guessing the day may just drag on slowly. We'll see. Today passed pretty fast. I turned in a very fancy scrapbook covering China if I do say so myself, and I realized that a coming test in language arts isn't going to be as difficult as I thought. Of course, I also have a math test the same day, this Wednesday, and that I am really not looking forward to.

...why, there is a grumbling and pang of hunger in my tummy... I'll take that as a sign that I should go eat something. :D

I Regret Nothing and Everything

Yay! It's snowing again! I wake up and the world is adorned with tiny frozen jewels that even still are coming down. In an hour or so it seems a clean fluffy white blanket, however thin, has been tossed over my surroundings. It just looks so fresh and pretty. I love the snow.

I suppose, now in afterthought, that I should mention my tryout for the play Pirates of Penzance. Now, Eric has already described the process well enough in his most recent post so I may as well simply add a bit on how my experience went. It's not really as though anyone still reads my blog much anymore. I suspect my posts are perhaps too long or monotonous, or uninteresting and bland. Irregardless I'll tell you anyway, should anyone care to come visit and comment on this blog ever again it shall remain updated. Though it's probably a worthless effort. :P Anyway, I tried out on Tuesday, the first day of the tryouts, after attending a very informative call-out meeting on Monday. I went through the lines of one of the sisters and also those of Ruth, the aging nursemaid of Frederick. I'd say neither reading went exceptionally well but I don't believe I did bad really either. I suppose if I make it (which isn't all that unlikely) I'd get a chorus part as a pirate or something. I doubt I really stood out enough or made enough of an impression to warrant a callback. And then there was the singing. Well, I can say I think I did okay on the piece from the play but I didn't fully realize we needed another piece to sing until the last minute. I wasn't entirely lost though because I sing often and have been practicing a couple various songs recently. (not saying I sing well at all, I just sing at home when I'm bored simply for the sake of it) Of course, in the last minute haste of deciding I picked a song that I realize in hindsight I maybe should not have chosen. I'm not happy with how I did on that(and the fact that Mrs. Clair was sort of grimacing while I sang it was awfully disheartening) but I really am fairly satisfied with how I performed the piece they taught us from the play. I did that second and as I sang that one she was smiling so hopefully that's a good sign. :D

On another note I am now reading for class "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" which I am actually enjoying. It's pretty interesting and informative and there are many ideas that I'd like to put into place in my life such as a well thought out Mission Statement. I need to set more goals and plans out in my life and also there are adjustments to my attitude that I feel very ready to make. Of course, being only a kid there are a couple things in the book that aren't a concern for me and won't be for awhile. All in all though I'm happy to be reading the book as it's spurring me into thought and action about various aspects of my life that I may want to work on and improve.

And finally, this weekend we're putting up the old Christmas tree and I have two projects to finish for next week so I am off to work! Happy weekend! :D

Oooone more thing. I forgot to mention, not that it's all that important, that I got my flu shot yesterday! Mom said I could get the mist but they didn't have any so I had to get a shot. It didn't hurt at all, and I really don't mind getting shots anyway. BUT now my arm is super sore. Humph! Oh well. At least I won't be getting the flu now! :D

Merry Times

This week has gone by so quickly. And of course the half day on Wednesday did help it along. The little flurries and cold weather have also been quite nice. Winter is finally upon us. Happy Holidays everybody! Merry Christmas too! And Happy New Year eventually. I can't wait for winter break now! My grandparents are coming up with their dog Bentley and it's going to be great. I really love the Christmas/Winter season. It's so full of gifts and joy. :D sigh* So nice. Anyway, I don't have much else to mention so I'm off. I'm pretty tired, and it's been a long day.
